Horse puncher sacked

I just read that Sarah Moulds that dreadful woman who was caught on video kicking and punching a horse has been sacked from her job as a teacher. Can't say I'm sorry.

OP posts:

Good to hear. I did wonder what consequences she might face.

RunningFromInsanity · 20/12/2021 22:12

A great lesson that actions have consequences.

OhGiveUp · 20/12/2021 22:13

Good.

Suzi888 · 20/12/2021 22:15

Excellent news.

smurfsss · 20/12/2021 22:34

Fantastic news!

Justajot · 20/12/2021 22:39

Whilst I don't disagree with this outcome, there's now a classful of kids who now have a disrupted year. It's really hard to recruit part way through a year. It's a real shame for them and the wider school that has to deal with this on top of everything else.

MrsTerryPratchett · 20/12/2021 22:42

In this specific case, someone who is cruel to animals probably isn't someone who should be around children.

However 'they should lose their job' has become a common consequence for anything. I wonder if that's a good idea. I mean are unemployed people likely to become better people? Probably not. And witch-hunts on SM can catch anyone who says anything about anything. My private life is just that. My employer doesn't own me.

Now I require a clean criminal records check for my job so fair enough. Many don't though.

thefourgp · 20/12/2021 22:43

Good - I hope she gets a criminal conviction for animal cruelty too

NoToast · 20/12/2021 22:44

I'm interested on what grounds she would lose her job for a case that hasn't been heard in court?

I'm not in any way defending her. I hate fox hunting, I hated seeing her slapping the pony, I would have withdrawn DC from school rather than let them be taught by her but surely there is some due process here? Is it possible an investigation has revealed more wrong doing or is this a bringing the profession into disrepute type of scenario?

I felt very uncomfortable with the Daily Mail inciting open season on her and still do.

Megan2018 · 20/12/2021 22:46

I’m very sad for her. She would’ve been DD’s teacher soon. The community here is very sad about it all. Her behaviour was unacceptable but the witch hunt unnecessary. It’s our children that are suffering- not the trolls online that have rejoiced in it all.

I do think this is an important point if our goal is to make our society and world a better place - which frankly it should be - rather than a desire for vengeance.

HeronLanyon · 20/12/2021 22:50

I think this has to be right - someone who used such violence on an animal really shouldn’t be around children. Or other people’s children. Not a witch hunt here. Just not suited to the job with that inside.

Bluntness100 · 20/12/2021 22:50

Good. No one who viciously abuses animals should be put in a position where they are role models to children and need to command respect and authority. Her position was untenable.

Thanks for the update op. Have you heard about her horses and the rspca investigation? The woman needs to be banned from keeping animals ever again.

I can honestly still picture her repeatedly punching that poor horse on its head, and kicking It in the chest. So disturbing. And what’s worse is children in her community who have been taught by her will have seen it too and know she abuses animals.

I'm more sad for the horse. There is no place in this world got people who abuse.
AllThingsServeTheBeam · 20/12/2021 22:53

For not got

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 20/12/2021 22:56

Good

I agree with others who say that someone who mistreats animals to that extent shouldn’t be near children

MrsTerryPratchett · 20/12/2021 22:56

There is no place in this world got people who abuse.

But they are in the world. Sacking them doesn't mean they fell off the side of the earth. And they were filmed, which is why they're sacked. Not because they did it. Not exactly justice, is it?

I'm not defending horse punching, I mean really. But sacking people as well as any appropriate sentencing or relevant consequences? I just don't see how that is likely to work.

I don’t think I’d call people who condemn animal abuse ‘trolls’. I know lots of horsey people and none of them would ever treat their horses like that. She deserves all she gets, mistreating animals is actually a sign of psychopathy. I wouldn’t want someone like teaching my child.

I think you've had a lucky escape Nasty piece of work. Totally unwarranted the slap and the kick

Would you really want someone who harms animals teaching your child?! I would question her anger management and definitely wouldn’t want her teaching my child.
milly74 · 20/12/2021 23:01

And it makes you wonder how she treats those horses "back at the yard."

then again I wouldn't want anyone who engages in fox hunting teaching my children either.

tokyodreams · 20/12/2021 23:01

I used to work for the police and someone I worked with was convicted of possessing the worst category of child sex abuse images. He lost his job. Quite rightly.

He didn't then drop off the face of the earth, he went to be a baker at a large supermarket chain.

Actions have consequences and certain actions make people completely unsuitable for roles requiring trust from the public.

Boxerine · 20/12/2021 23:02

I'd agree if she'd hit a child. But this is OTT especially in a country that uses horses for racing and hunting - plenty of horses getting hit all over the shop in both of those scenarios. Plus it's generally not great to have people losing their jobs and being drummed out of society due to viral video clips.

Megan2018 · 20/12/2021 23:03

She is not a nasty piece of work. We are a tiny community (the school has less than 50 kids 5-11) we all know of each other.
I have a horse, I wouldn’t hit mine like that. I don’t agree with what she did but it’s a huge overreaction whipped up by sabs and the media.
It is very sad here.

I'd say it was the horse who was suffering.
