Horse puncher sacked

Viviennemary · 20/12/2021 22:10

I just read that Sarah Moulds that dreadful woman who was caught on video kicking and punching a horse has been sacked from her job as a teacher. Can't say I'm sorry.

OP posts:

@Megan2018 she absolutely is a nasty piece of work, the way the video shows her totally losing her cool with the horse and the disgusting level of aggression is shocking . To think she was a volunteer for the pony club too ! Horrible !!

liveforsummer · 21/12/2021 05:38

Tbh I'm surprised she didn't resign. I'm not sure it's a great thing though - I mean she's unlikely to be nicer to those poor horses now, as someone with a mindset like she must have, they've 'caused' her to get sacked.

I think a ‘nasty piece of work’ is rather a mild description of the animal abusing bastard

RobertSmithsLipstick · 21/12/2021 07:01

Anyone who abuses animals is a nasty piece of work, and people who excuse it are just as bad.

Hopefully she'll have trouble finding anyone to employ her.

antisocialsocialclub · 21/12/2021 07:37

@Megan2018

She is not a nasty piece of work. We are a tiny community (the school has less than 50 kids 5-11) we all know of each other. I have a horse, I wouldn’t hit mine like that. I don’t agree with what she did but it’s a huge overreaction whipped up by sabs and the media. It is very sad here.
Yeah it’s clear you know her personally. Perhaps look beyond the end of your nose and try and work out why everyone else here condemn what she did.

Hi all,
We have read through the thread now and made several deletions and would like to remind everyone that personal attacks and goading fellow posters are against our guidelines.
Of course feelings are running high but we do need everyone to stick to the rules so that we can keep the site ticking over with minimal interference. Thanks, all!

mommydragonn · 21/12/2021 07:47

I had never seen the video of her and the horse before... just watched on YouTube..... Bloody Hell 😧.... this was probably someone recording it by chance.... don't think this was the first time or would've been the last.

Alarmset · 21/12/2021 07:48

The "grounds" will at the very least be bringing the school into disrepute. With the publicity around this it would be very hard to argue that hasn't happened.

Takemedown · 21/12/2021 07:53

I’m very sad for her. She would’ve been DD’s teacher soon. The community here is very sad about it all. Her behaviour was unacceptable but the witch hunt unnecessary. It’s our children that are suffering- not the trolls online that have rejoiced in it all.

It's the horse that suffered, not your kid. Your kid will be fine. On the other hand, If she's happy to do that to the horse in public, what the fuck is she doing to it behind closed doors?

motheroflions · 21/12/2021 07:55

@MrsTerryPratchett

In this specific case, someone who is cruel to animals probably isn't someone who should be around children.

However 'they should lose their job' has become a common consequence for anything. I wonder if that's a good idea. I mean are unemployed people likely to become better people? Probably not. And witch-hunts on SM can catch anyone who says anything about anything. My private life is just that. My employer doesn't own me.

Now I require a clean criminal records check for my job so fair enough. Many don't though.

I agree with this. Sm has made people think they own strangers lives.
gerispringer · 21/12/2021 08:05

Good. Some “country” people think they are the only ones who understand animals and think they can kill any inconvenient wildlife and treat animals how they like.

Takemedown · 21/12/2021 08:11

A horse's skin is so sensitive that it can feel a fly land anywhere on its body. It's head is the most sensitive part of its body. Yet that woman felt it was appropriate to punch this poor horse in the face for her own stupid mistake. I mean she's by no means unusual in the horse world especially in these small hunting communities who believe in an old school approach to horse "training" focused on punishment rather than reward. Have heard of horses getting a good thrashing out on the hunt for not wanting to jump something. Even children, from a very young age are encouraged to hit and kick their ponies if they won't go forward. But the most important thing in any hunt is the enjoyment of the riders, not the welfare of any of the animals involved. Not the horses, hounds or fox. It's all about human endorphins and them getting off on it.

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 21/12/2021 08:13

There was nothing wrong with my comment. It was true. Anyone who condones animal abuse, which includes hunts (even ones that start off 'not' hunting foxes) is abhorrent.

I didn’t see your comment but I completely agree with you. Was it deleted? It’s well known that people who hurt humans usually hurt animals first. We need to take animal abuse more seriously in this country not sweep it under the carpet.
TeachesOfPeaches · 21/12/2021 08:19

If you think the horse video was bad, just wait until you see how dairy cows, pigs and chickens are treated which you all happily eat every day.

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 21/12/2021 08:20

@antisocialsocialclub yes it was deleted as I aimed it at a particular poster

I don't
TeachesOfPeaches · 21/12/2021 08:22

Unless everyone in this thread is a staunch vegan then I don't think you can take the higher ground on animal abuse. (I'm not a vegan).

I’m going to suggest that if you think blood sports are ok you’ve lost your moral compass anyway.
LampBookPicture · 21/12/2021 08:25

Just to be clear @Megan2018 you do not speak for everyone in this community. What's more it is the argument of the ignorant to blame the media. The evidence spoke for itself. Accusing others of being bullies because they don't agree with you is telling.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 21/12/2021 08:27

Hunting is rightly illegal. Several posts by Megan2018 eg the one mentioning 'sabs' makes it sound like the Cottesmore hunt goes after foxes. Has there been an admission of illegal activity here, and if so what is going to be done about it?

Does anyone know what happened to the Olympics horse/trainer/rider after that horse was punched?
Roselilly36 · 21/12/2021 08:28

It was terrible what she did, no way could behaviour like that ever be acceptable, but I don’t agree that she has lost her job, I think that is wrong.
