@the80sweregreat

I guess it's hard to care about something that happened a while ago and they are outside etc But I just feel it'll be ' us and them' again snd any restrictions will be flouted because if these photos
It was and is quite clearly us and them. They get to do what they want while we sit in our houses unable to visit elderly and dying relatives.

But it's ok because this one was a work meeting. In a garden. With wine and pizza.

Yeah right.

MrsTophamHat · 19/12/2021 20:27

I wish my work meetings looked like that.

Sometimes someone brings a packet of hobnobs to ours.

DartmoorChef · 19/12/2021 20:27

Hes in work clothes, so are the others. I would imagine that behind the doors there are lots of staff at no.10. Could have been a post work drink after the working day.

I'm failing to get worked up about this one.

RedRobinRedbreast · 19/12/2021 20:28

nobody owning it then? makes it seem dodgy. no proof of when it was taken still op...was it May? July? August?

work meetings were ok to have...we had a few. Boris was more responsible though, ours were indoors

I feel the same. I don't see the big deal.

clutching at straws

GreenLunchBox · 19/12/2021 20:31

@RedRobinRedbreast

who is he sat with? Carrie?
Yes
YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 19/12/2021 20:34

Work meeting with Carrie there? Right-o.

I had to stand in my mums garden whilst she cried about my dad being in hospital that May.

Utter utter bastards.

GreenLunchBox · 19/12/2021 20:36

I hope we get to see pictures of the violin lady soon

NigellaBangBangTurkey · 19/12/2021 20:36

Are you allowed to drink alcohol whist working in the gov?? Hmm

HardbackWriter · 19/12/2021 20:40

I think the fact it's being leaked so long after the fact has robbed it of a lot of its power, unfortunately. It's hard to remember now just what things were like in May 2020, and so how shocking this would have been at the time. It was five/six weeks into the first lockdown. Playgrounds were shut, the announcement he had made that day was that people could take 'more' outdoor exercise. Somewhere around then I went and looked at my new nephew through a window and felt guilty because I knew it was a bit against the rules; if I'd posted about it on MN at that time I'd have been slaughtered for my selfishness. It was a bit before the Barnard Castle revelations. If that photo had been released then people would have been horrified at the huge contrast between it and how we were expected to live, but I think some of that is lost in time.

Stopsnowing · 19/12/2021 20:40

I care and it means that they will never be able to orchestrate a lockdown again.

GreenLunchBox · 19/12/2021 20:41

Apparently so. In fact I'd say it's obligatory judging by the sheer incompetence they show us literally every day.
OverByYer · 19/12/2021 20:42

I work in public sector and was working ( in the office) in May 2020 we would nit have dreamt of having wine and cheese at the end of the working day together. I'd sacked for a start if I was drinking on the job

GreenLunchBox · 19/12/2021 20:43

The fact it is leaking now has not robbed it of its power...quite the contrary. They want to announce a lockdown now, when we know all the shenanigans they got up to while us plebs were locked down? Not likely!

I reckon the person leaking this is doing so because they are anti-lockdown.

User135644 · 19/12/2021 20:43

It's not much of a gotcha really. Seems a bit desperate.

If this was the original story (rather than the Stratton press conference) nobody would give a toss.

Opal8 · 19/12/2021 20:43

Lying to the HofC yet again

tangone · 19/12/2021 20:44

Post work drinks were not allowed in May 2020. Most people were working from home and those that couldn’t had to socially distance.

FolkSongSweet · 19/12/2021 20:44

Exactly. This was during the strictest part of lockdown. People were furloughed, playgrounds were locked up, you were allowed out once a day for exercise, you were meant to socially distance. I was screamed at by an elderly lady when my toddler passed too close by her in a park on his bike. I didn’t see any of my family for about 6 months.

They are absolutely not working in that photo. There are no papers, laptops etc. Carrie is there with the baby. It is a social occasion. Socialising in groups was not allowed at that time. It’s a disgrace.

LizzoBorden · 19/12/2021 20:44

@Hbh17

I don't care & don't know anybody who does! It is all just so tedious.
Really?! In all honesty I’ve made my own calls but come on… they’ve literally prosecuted people for less
MrsMigginsEggNogShoppe · 19/12/2021 20:45

I wonder if it's Cummings leaking this stuff? He's got an axe to grind and he'd love to seeJohnson topple.

CherryRedDMs · 19/12/2021 20:46

We can’t accuse this government of being unable to organise a piss-up, well, anywhere.
He should resign.

In May 2020 people were doing the Conga and having street parties.

The Christmas parties at number 10 cut through because Christmas was cancelled for the general public and that sticks in the memory.

User135644 · 19/12/2021 20:47

Post work drinks were not allowed in May 2020.

Why were people allowed street parties then during the VE Day bank holiday?

AnyFucker · 19/12/2021 20:48

I think it was around that time (and many others) I was trying to reassure a woman on the phone through my tears whose H was in ICU and she wasn’t allowed to visit

She was so grateful for my useless words and it was shit
