I am eating hot, salty chips after swimming in a near empty pool.

Great thread.

I have met a nice man. It is early days. We had a date yesterday and he is cooking for me on Sunday. I like him.

FGSWhatNow · 17/12/2021 20:07

I'm wrapping presents (and mn'ing!) with a lovely scented candle going and some christmas music on. DH is putting the DCs to bed and there's a bottle of red opened for us when he comes downstairs. Contentment.

San141 · 17/12/2021 20:08

I had an interview for a job at lunchtime...2 hours later they phoned and offered me the position!

Billyliarohdear · 17/12/2021 20:10

After overspending on Christmas gifts I checked my balance at tbe bank earlier and I've got a few quid more than I thought in there. Not a lot but enough to see us through.

MissingEsme · 17/12/2021 20:10

I'm so excited my partner is coming home to me permanently from UK to Ireland. On 16th October, the day he was meant to come, his friend found him luckily. His body had gone into septic shock and was almost gone. He spent 7 weeks in hospital and miraculously no damage was done. He was incredibly lucky and we are so blessed. The best Christmas ever. Hope you all have the best time

PilatesPeach · 17/12/2021 20:10

@San141 yeah congratulations! woohoo!

PilatesPeach · 17/12/2021 20:11

@MissingEsme oh wow wow wow a Christmas miracle X

You have no idea how much I needed this.
I’m so chuffed for you all ladies.

I’m day 3 awaiting my induction stuck in hospital (that’s clearly not the good bit)
But contrary to MN fashion, I actually have an amazing DH at home with my toddler, he is absolutely bossing it and despite missing them both terribly, I know I will go home to a clean and tidy house and a well cared for little boy. I appreciate him so much.

Disfordarkchocolate · 17/12/2021 20:12

I'm self-employed and I've earned all I need for January and February already. Admittedly isn't not loads but it feels so good.

I have a granary loaf proving overnight and it's already looking fantastic.

theDudesmummy · 17/12/2021 20:17

I have bookings for clients running into May next year and I had some great sex this morning. And as things stand right now both my daughters are coming home for Xmas.

jollygreenpea · 17/12/2021 20:21

Thank you for this thread, it's so easy to get bogged down in all the doom and gloom. There is a lot of good things all the time. I'm happy and contented in my life.

OwlBasket · 17/12/2021 20:22

I found a big, scary lump in my sons arm and it’s entirely benign.

Borisjohnsonshairbrush · 17/12/2021 20:25

Oh my..

I have teared up with happiness with each one of you all.
Ooh this is good!

Danikm151 · 17/12/2021 20:28

I got home to a cooked dinner after work today (mom was babysitting)
I actually put the laundry away this evening. Feel like I’m winning at life lol

Borisjohnsonshairbrush · 17/12/2021 20:30

Oh and I was secret Santa to a student nurse at work....I'm not made of money at all the spend is 10 but I asked her for her bank details and she asked why and I said I owed her for a bacon butty last week as I had no change and I sent her £30. She asked why and I admitted I was her secret Santa. She sent me a voice message bawling her eyes out about how much it helped her. I'm only admin but I like to think she will be helping save lives in the future. Xx
