Classic 90s make up. Heather Shimmer et al.

Mtv on in background, sclub7 'never had a dream come true' is on and have such nostalgia for the sparkly, shimmery make up of the late 90s, Rimmel's Heather Shimmer, Fudge Brownie and glitter gel, butterfly clips, hair mascara and all that!

Spectacular orange glitter nail polish, Avon Foxfire perfume or Boots Vanilla Musk, with my black platform sandals. Washed my hair with Henara. I still have a little pot of tiny silver stars I used to stick on my face for going Out. Much prefer that to the copy and paste faces today.

I'm sure the brands would make a killing if they brought back limited edition sets for Christmas with all the old classics... I would love it! Loved heather shimmer! Toffee apple lip balm in the little pot too. Dewberry perfume. I'm having a rubbish week and a set like this would make my day lol

Iron Lady eye shadow or lip stick. Can’t remember which but it was miss selfridge

Oh all the Spectacular nail varnishes! They would get so gloopy! Also had a pot of the sequined stars that would stick on to my face along the cheekbone, with that, roller glitter and all the Rimmel shimmer we must have been like disco balls! None of the contoured matt and beige of today for us!

Impulse o2, Nina Ricci Les Bells, and spray or roll on glitter.. why on earth!

I was just thinking about Les Belles de Ricci last night! I had a sample of Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Granada Salvia and it reminded me of it because it has a similar tomato plant smell. Went on a bit of an internet deep dive trying to find out if you can still buy it (you can’t 😔)

Ahhh life was so happy back then. I loved Boots Seventeen lipstick in Blondie, Bodyshop all-in-one face base, obviously heather shimmer and Saturdays spent browsing Topshop, Miss Selfridge, Bay Trading Co and HMV.

Simpler times……

I wore Rimmel Mocha Shimmer and Peach Shimmer lipstick and nail polish when I started work in the 70's! Loved those. Heather didn't suit me.

And I still miss the Coty Sweet Earth solid perfume palettes.

I loved the tiny silver stars and hair clips! I think I still have some somewhere, wonder how my teenager would react if I wore them for parents evening today

Bourjois Rouge Bordeaux nail varnish was my favourite for years

I really liked pink clover lip/ cheeks/eye stick from the body shop

Oh the Nineties! I think it was the last innocent days before everything went dull and mainstream.

I still remember how I felt in my black bootcut jeans and white lacy shirt with pointy collars, unbuttoned save for one button in the middle, bra showing underneath like the Spice Girls.

Shiny combat trousers (I think mine were lilac) crop top. Jeans with glittery embroidery on the flared legs.

Feels like another planet now.

Loved a bit of Heather Shimmer. However my favourite was Boots 17 Bon Bon. I'd wear that shade again in a heartbeat!!

I loved all of this, but the thing I miss the most is colour hair mousse! Always had deep plum hair 😂 I wonder why they don't do it now? Mind you, it was a bit of a worry if it rained.

I used to LOVE purple and teal fountain pen ink!!

I loved Harmony hair dye in the triangular box, it smelt like violets! And the Boots Natural Collection was so much better then too. I would buy all these things in a second if they brought them back out.

Boots 17 did an amazing cosmic girl range, lilac eyeshadows and lipstick and stiff called fairy dust that was basically talc with glitter on it.

My and my pals would get our wee black suit blazer jackets on and go party

Ha ha just got a Heather shimmer lipstick in my Sainsburys shop delivered. It was only £3 and still is the only lip colour to suit me. Slapped it on straight away

I still have a little tub of the 17 fairy dust! Me and my friends would be shedding glitter for weeks after a big night out

Omg yeah roll on glitter and glitter hair spray (I do still use glitter hairspray tho, I love it )
