Do you recognise names on here?

I saw someone call someone out a while back for mentioning something they had previously said on another thread, calling them creepy or something to that affect and it just got me thinking.. By now, I have been lurking and posting for such a long time that I do in fact remember many names on here and certain things they may have said in the past. I have been told I have a remarkable memory at times, but I never realised this made me creepy!

So, do you recognise names on here and remember certain things you have seen from them on other threads or am I just an oddball?

I recognise some, particularly if they have commented on threads I’ve commented on.

As an aside, I do wonder though why MN allow NC. I do see for some people they don’t want posts linked. However surely it would cut down on trolls and fake posts.

I remember/notice names but no exactly what they have said. I know posters who I often agree/disagree with though.

Very few names I recognise, probably around a dozen and I don't remember specific things they have said but can usually predict what their opinion will be in AIBU

Only 1 poster that I recognise from real life. I don't actually know her but she posts a lot on a local FB board.

I NC every so often to reduce risk of anyone IRL recognising me (not that I post anything very exciting or identifying)

I actually recognised a friend a while back based on certain posts… even after a name change I recognised them again. Not seen anything familiar for some time though.

I'll read a reply on a post and think, "What an absolutely twattish thing to say! That's nothing like what the OP has said, they've twisted it and made up the rest just to have a go at the OP!!!"

Then I read the name and think, "Well duh. It's that Goady Fucker. I should have known."

I have been on here for years and years under loads of different names but I'm no troll.

I NC often because I say a lot of outing things usually when I'm asking for advice on here.

I should maybe clarify as well that I doubt I would remember what "Stefania78" said about her marriage four months ago, it's more like "Oh, that bloody JalfreziAtChristmas is back again with her idiotic views on covid" or "Oh, JalfreziAtChristmas, that's that fucker who said she won't have the covid jab because the vaccine contains a microchip so that "they" can follow our every move. She has ridiculous opinions on what should and shouldn't be okay in a monogamous relationship too. Not surprised! And her name is stupid as well!" and then that kind of gets put in my mental shit list and I will remember it.

My husband really hates my memory!

I only remember those who post regularly on the same topics I'm interested in and those who have been tits to me.

Yep, I've a good memory for names on here. It's handy because it means I know who to avoid or ignore.

Yes, even when we all know who they are and feel somehow a bit sorry and embarrassed for them at the same time.

I've been reading for years and posting for the last few and recognise some names, probably only 3-4 where I can remember their MN 'personality', and not any specifics that people have shared.

I feel like there used to be a lot more regulars / consistent names a few years back - why is that?

Yes, been here 20 years and I recognise quite a few who have been here as long as me ... there must be a lot more who have name changed. I tend to have similar opinions to certain posters and/or we are drawn to the same subjects, but I don't go into the "waves to" sort of phrases that you used to see on here a lot more.

I recognise quite a few names, but not what they've said - it's more names that I find funny or interesting (like @DramaAlpaca - it always makes me smile). I name change a lot, just because I want to.

Duke I think there is a lot more name changing these days.

Yep I think there are some 'famous' posters on here who people will agree/argue with because of their username 🤷‍♀️

I always get paranoid that I'm the one of the posters people avoid ... LOL but then I remember I'm a minnow in an ocean and nobody gives a fuck, including me...

There was one poster I always remembered but they have probably name changed. It was an affair and the children were quite young. You

Mostly usernames don't register with me but as I've been here for years, I do recognise some. I never remember what they've said though.

I NC probably every 4 weeks!

There are names that catch my eye then some that I recognise what their style will be.
Some people I respect even if I don't always agree, they just have a good tone to their posting style.
A few and I know that I'll have my eyeballs rolling off across the road if I'm not careful. It's quite funny when they NC and it's bloody obvious from their writing style and obsessions.
