@Santapankitoo
I love when the decorations are strung across the street...I can remember as a small child we'd go to my nan's house for Thanksgiving about an hour's drive away...by the time we'd get back into town, it would be dark out... the Christmas lights would be switched on for the first time that night..My dad would drive us through to look at the magical lights strung above our heads as we'd drive under them...Happy Christmas memories...didn't cost a penny, but are nonetheless pricelessXmas Smile

With all that talk about those minx I asked Santa for some and he made a special delivery..I was so excited when I first saw them, I ripped open the packaging and gobbled a pie without reading the directions about how I was supposed to warm it up..still yummyXmas Grin

Sitting here eating my pies whilst watching Carols from King's, the Queen's touching speech ( she looks amazing! That well deserved rest has done her lots of good), and watching and listening to the Dutchess of Cambridge playing the piano whilst Tom Walker sings at Westminster...she is such an amazing person, also..Wills picked well!Xmas Smile

Santapankitoo · 25/12/2021 18:09

Oh dear!
I like mine hot SP.
I really like Tom Walker ( one of his parents is Scottish I think, so he can speak with a Scottish accent and a Manchester accent )
I have a CD album of his and I love it .
Unfortunately I have no musical talents . I would love to play an instrument well .
I can eat minx pies though.
I did not see the Queen but managed to
help MIL get a replacement TV just in time for the Queen’s Soeech.

SwtPeasOnEarth · 26/12/2021 00:54

Glad you were able to help your MIL get her replacement TV sorted @Santapankitoo...that was kind of you to help her so she could see and hear the Queen's Speech! It was encouraging to see how well Her Majesty was looking today. She seemed very strong even when talking about her beloved Phillip.😭

My minx pielet taste test results are in...I know you lot have been breathlessly awaiting my decision tallies...
Ok..it is a unanimous decision on my part that Mr. Kiplings is far superior to Walkers...especially the filling...Yes, the Walkers do have a delicious shortbread crust, but if I wanted a shortbread, I'd just eat a Walkers at a far less expensive price...

I did a proper taste-test by cleansing my palate with a cup of Yorkshire Gold between the two...
In my Wedgwood China cup with a proper saucer and everything for the full British experience...DH gave me the cup and saucer for Christmas...he couldn't afford but one, so he has had his tea in a decade old chipped Santa themed cupXmas Grin

I'm off to brush my teeth now before they get all stained from the YG😁
