What lockdown habit have you kept up with?

Obviously hoping we avoid another lockdown. But I was thinking about some of the things we did during lockdown. Yesterday I had a video call with a couple of friends as we were trying to sort out a meet up at Christmas. It felt almost quaint, but something I thought I should do more often.

Daily walks seem to have disappeared from my life too.

What lockdown habit have you kept in your life?

Lots of things already mentioned. Wine regularly, walking regularly, home hair dye, less socialising in general.

@ThePoisonousMushroom

I didn’t have time to do anything over and above staying afloat in lockdown, as I had a full time job plus homeschooling 2 primary aged children and looking after a toddler. I got fatter, drank more to block it all out and dropped all my hobbies. I can’t think of a single thing from that time that I’d like to keep up!
Very similar. Working full time and homeschooling 2 children whilst studying for my own exams on top.

I was so envious of those who spent time learning new things. Since the kids have gone back, I've learned to knit and have made new gloves for the family.

Online shopping, I rarely step foot in physical shops now and can't see me going back

Weekly video call catch up with my three closest friends from uni. We've not lived in the same county for over fifteen years, and for at least ten of those one or more of us has been living abroad. Catch ups have been sporadic and expensive, and involved getting on planes. We started a weekly chat during the first lockdown and we're still doing it over a year later. A baby has been born in that time and it's so nice to see them and have a relaxed catch up.

I’m so envious of all these amazing habits of everybody’s. I was trapped in the house for months with two teens and a hyper toddler who never sleeps.

I gave up on keeping the house clean and tidy and seem to have kept that one up 🤔

Eating Angry

KrispyKale · 28/11/2021 23:50

Oh I've just remembered the real biggie: being too much of a hermit.

RAOK · 29/11/2021 00:01

Stuffing my face 24/7 😳

Weekly online food shop. I now don’t know how I fitted in a weekly visit to an actual supermarket and why I bothered. Deliveries are so much more time efficient.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 29/11/2021 00:56

I still go for walks most days

HereComesYourMam · 29/11/2021 08:16

Takeaway and film night on Saturdays

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 29/11/2021 10:11

Guacamole001 · 29/11/2021 11:17

Yoga on a dvd at home.

junglejane66 · 29/11/2021 13:13

@StarlightLady

- Grocery deliveries.
  • My “posh frock walk”, every Friday lunchtime. I get dressed up and made up for a circular walk to nowhere. But feel better for it.
'Posh frock walk' I had visions of 'Emily Howard' and 'I'm a Lady'
Chunkymenrock · 29/11/2021 13:18

Eating crisps every day. Sad

kierenthecommunity · 29/11/2021 21:12

Learning Welsh

Coincidentally me too, on Duolingo. I used to do it when queuing to get in shops. Now if there’s a queue for a till its an opportunity to do a quick lesson 😃

Virtual drinks

Watching too much Netflix

kierenthecommunity · 29/11/2021 21:13

Oh and nice takeaways - as in a meal from a restaurant, but at home

Gufo · 29/11/2021 22:12

Yoga, wfh and bad hair

Thecomfortador · 29/11/2021 22:20

Working from home. Sitting on the sofa doing sod all, gaining weight.

JuergenWasRobbed · 29/11/2021 22:23

Leisure and pyjama wear. Certainly reduced my clothing spend.

NovemberNovemberDarkNights · 29/11/2021 22:25

@ThePoisonousMushroom

Drinking too much.
That seems like a good one to be a late adopter of!!

(Seriously though, I hope it's not causing you problems💐)

userxx · 29/11/2021 22:29

Looking like shit. Not sure why I've kept it up but it's now a bad habit.

Vbree · 29/11/2021 22:34

Milk delivery, online Zoom workouts.

Shannith · 29/11/2021 22:37

Yoga with Adrienne. Love it and transformative.

46 and supple - I'm amazed.

Dressage - see above.
