Cheer me up whilst I am incapacitated with my bust ankle
Ligaments.

Are you doing anything festive this weekend or is it still to early. I'd planned to go shopping this evening then the a Christmas market and do bits of shopping out and about. Instead I'm Laid up on the sofa with my ankle Swelling!

Give me Inspiration for when my ankle is better.

10 of us all healthcare assistants and work together are all off to the German market in Birmingham and then lumch and cocktails, not very often we can all go out together with our shift patterns, going to be a bit flipping cold though but we will still have a good time.

tunnocksreturns2019 · 26/11/2021 22:35

Still isolating as DD has covid but we’re going to make sticky toffee puddings and gingerbread mix for Christmas, and pop them in the freezer Smile

goldshade · 26/11/2021 22:43

Baking and freezing mince pies tomorrow along with a bit of wrapping and card writing. Harpenden Christmas Festival on Sunday which is just fabulous.
Snow due any minute so looking forward to that too.

AuntieStella · 26/11/2021 23:11

It's Advent Sunday, so I shall be following my annual tradition of promising myself I'll make a start on writing Christmas cards good and early. And as always, I shall fail to do so

WeeTattieBogle · 26/11/2021 23:16

@sensibleheartxo

I was at the Christmas Market in Edinburgh a few nights ago. It was a pleasant night out. Sadly there weren’t any decorations lining Princess Street apart from individual ones put up by the Waldorf and other private companies.

Campervan69 · 26/11/2021 23:26

We're going to Alton Towers Christmas markets and Lightopia. Kids are v excited. Staying over in a guesthouse as well so making a weekend of it. Pub tea and full English breakfast 😋

Jumpingintochristmas · 26/11/2021 23:31

I’m in a festive girls weekend. Just tucked up in bed after a lovely Italian meal with too much wine - everyone met in Glasgow having traveled after work/school runs so knackered!

Tomorrow we are planning spa treatments, brunch, shopping, Christmas market then a quick change before dinner and cocktails.

Sunday morning brunch then home to watch Christmas films with the family and nurse my hangover Xmas Blush

bluechameleon · 26/11/2021 23:41

I'm going to the Good Food Show, where I'm hoping to buy some presents and some Christmas treats. Then on Sunday mornong we are going to buy the Christmas tree at IKEA.

mrsbyers · 26/11/2021 23:44

Wreath making workshop with bestie tomorrow morning but we are being battered with this storm at the moment so just focussing on getting through til morning unscathed

FolkyFoxFace · 26/11/2021 23:48

Hope you're feeling better soon, OP! Get a nice mulled wine in you and some fancy chocs. WineCake

Storm Arwen may ruin it, but until notified otherwise we're heading to the village Christmas lights turn on, and the festive market. On Sunday it's my brother's birthday and we're supposed to be going into the city for another bigger Christmas market, but now we're considering all piling back to our house instead and having a little mini party instead.

Winter Wonderland at Center Parcs. Seeing Santa tomorrow. The Christmas lights are fantastic.

Will decorate the apartment in the morning and wear Christmas jumpers too 🎅🏻

Mydogisagentleman · 27/11/2021 07:35

My life is being lived at 100 miles an hour.
I am going to our local town to have three mugs printed for presents.
I must curb my excitement

EsmeraldaFudge · 27/11/2021 07:37

Putting my decorations up

We did this every year when my boys were young. Loved it.
EventOfTheSeason · 27/11/2021 07:42

We were going to a Christmas fayre but have woken up to snow so probably playing in that instead.

WayneKorr · 27/11/2021 08:04

@Gertie75

I'm at our caravan, it's snowing a bit outside, I'm all warm and cosy drinking Baileys and we're going to play board games with the kids in a bit.

I'm looking forward to listening to the storm overnight, they always sound very dramatic in the caravan

That sounds lovely Was going to go the Christmas market but it's pouring down and the markets on the pier so it will be cancelled as too dangerous Gonna light the fire and curl up with a book listening to the storm Hope your ankle heals soon OP

I'm going to blitz the house to get it ready for decorations going up on Wednesday. Have been quite neglectful of housework for the last few weeks. Obviously I should have already started but I'm having a coffee and reading mn. I need some motivation to get started.

cherrypiepie · 27/11/2021 10:12

@FolkyFoxFace thank you its. a bit sore today I think I over did the hobbling yesterday!

DH going to aldi so requesting Mince pies and mulled wine and Christmassy candle. Decorations up next week. So I might wrap a few presents and write some cards.

Lighting the fire next as it freezing. It's very windy here too so take care those in Arwens path. Its sadly dangerous.

Also picking new coat as I'm cold and new hair styles as hobbling to hair dressers next Thursday (will get a lift).

@cherrypiepie have you tried the marzipan/frangipane mince pies from Aldi? One of them (can’t remember which) is excellent, apparently - DH’s recommendation as I don’t eat them.

Bqpo · 27/11/2021 10:15

Putting the tree up, normally do it 1st weekend in December, but I've had a crappy week and it looks beautiful and christmassy out the window with the snow, so going for it!

ChoccyJules · 27/11/2021 16:50

Have wrapped most of what I have bought, while burning the Rhubarb Gin candle DH got me for my birthday and listening to podcasts. Feel a bit heady from the artificial smell now but the flame was cosy.
It’s blowing a hoolie outside and was dark So Early!

Libertaire · 27/11/2021 16:53

None, because it’s still November.

hopeishere · 27/11/2021 16:56

Nothing. I might do the cake tomorrow. Advent thing will come out on Wednesday.

Tree will go up on a few weeks.

gogohm · 27/11/2021 16:58

Does going to the pub count, anger songwriter performing

cherrypiepie · 27/11/2021 17:02
