I’m on a MN read-along/make-along thread for Nigel Slater’s The Christmas Chronicles (which starts on 1 Nov), so I’ve been reading about and/or doing festive things for a while now...
So far have made cranberry gin liqueur and apricot brandy liqueur, Christmas pudding, mincemeat, apple chutney, cranberry sauce, buffet sausage rolls, cinnamon biscuits, and hmmm, can’t remember if there’s anything else... if you have the book or want to buy it why not join us, it’s a lovely way to pass some time:
Christmas Chronicles thread 1
Christmas Chronicles thread 2
Today I caught up on a few chapters whilst trying out my new Christmas Crockery (an early Christmas gift from DH). You’ll notice I’ve also put up the first little string of lights to add a bit of cheer to the long dark afternoons/evenings).😊
I’m also on the poncetastic thread but sadly not much poncing has gone on for a few weeks as I’ve been focused on cooking/baking. However that’s going to change this weekend as I’m going to dig out the cross stitch card, my fabrics, the wool and crochet hook (I’m determined to learn this year!), as well as the card making materials. Oh and the strips for making woven stars, too. If we go out this weekend I’ll also buy a wreath base so I can get that done asap.
I was going to wander on down to our local Christmas market today but it’s blowing a gale out and I’m not going out in that! It was sleeting horizontally earlier! ❄️ ❄️ ❄️
We’ve already bought and eaten one box of Turkish Delights, and bought and drunk one bottle of port. Oops!🍷🍷
Oh my, just noticed you’re having Chinese tonight! Enjoy!!
