I don't expect my teen to change and wash their bedding...but regardless of age, I aim to change all bedding once a week but it's more like once a fortnight in reality
2Hot2Handle · 24/11/2021 12:03

Weekly. Unless the bedding gets soiled from food spillages, accidents, dirty clothes from the garden etc.

TheMooch · 24/11/2021 12:05

Its supposedly weekly. Reality is every fortnight.

They don't have the thrill of crisp clean sheets like me

WakeUpLockie · 24/11/2021 12:05

Errrrm … when I remember! I’m prepared to be flamed 😄 They’re never visibly dirty or smell smelly so probably once a month. They both usually sleep uncovered and off the pillow honestly so it’s just the sheet to worry about anyway haha.

FourTeaFallOut · 24/11/2021 12:06

Once a fortnight. I tried weekly but couldn't be arsed.

hoomama · 24/11/2021 12:07

@WakeUpLockie I'm glad you said that!! I was thinking bloody hell I must be awful. I do them monthly ish too 😂🙈.

GrannyWeatherwaxsBroomstick · 24/11/2021 12:08

Every week. More if they get anything on them.

UndeadSlut · 24/11/2021 12:10

6 and 9 year olds get done every two weeks, barring accidents. Teenager's are done every week.

Lostmyheart101 · 24/11/2021 12:10

I would like to say weekly, but honestly 2-3 weeks.

If dirty, spills, accidents occur then straight away obviously.

TurnUpTurnip · 24/11/2021 12:10

Weekly

WhyAmIDoingIt · 24/11/2021 12:12

Once a fortnight but 4 nights out of the 14 they're at their dads.

PleasantBirthday · 24/11/2021 12:12

Weekly, usually. She strips the bed herself and puts everything in the washing machine though (6), so I only need to make it.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 24/11/2021 12:13

About every 10 days

NeedsCharging · 24/11/2021 12:14

Once a mother but DC are at their dad's 50% of that so I suppose it's more after 14 sleeps in them Grin

TheCheesyBakedBeanGetsGlam · 24/11/2021 12:15

Every time they get dirty. About twice a week unfortunately 😞

Mol1628 · 24/11/2021 12:15

Weekly. They strip themselves every Tuesday then I wash it. I find it starts getting sweaty smelling if I leave it longer and they’re only 6 and 8.

WildStallyn · 24/11/2021 12:16

In summer I do all the bedding weekly and line dry it. In winter I alternate so our bed one week, DC the next, due to a lack of drying space (and I figure it's getting less sweaty in winter anyway so it's fine).

Camomila · 24/11/2021 12:26

Once a fortnight - both kids end up with us around midnight anyway so the sheets never really get dirty.

WinterIcelandicPony · 24/11/2021 12:28

Generally speaking every week- but it does slip to every second week on occasion.

I used to wfh on Thursdays so that is my bed clothes changing day. It just became a habit.

Camii · 24/11/2021 12:32

Ha!
Am basking in the glow of all clean sheets today. And having recently relaxed to every fortnight, am glad to see that is fairly normal.
I do change teenage kids beds sooner if they start to pong and will aim for weekly in the summer bc we live in a hot country etc...
Am I only the only one super impressed by @PleasantBirthday. Well done to you and your dd

Softwonder · 24/11/2021 12:35

When Mine were smaller it was monthly as they didn't sweat, wee, or anything else in bed and everything smelled nice for ages!

Teenage boys I do when they can be arsed to strip the bed for me and bring it down to the laundry room. Generally when they've got a girlfriend coming round. 😁

Ours I do fortnightly. Honestly after a week it all still smells and looks fresh. I don't get the washing weekly thing, it's too much hassle to want to do it when it's not necessary. No one likes changing the beds (although lovely when done)

Gliderx · 24/11/2021 12:38

Once a fortnight. I do ours once a week.

SirChenjins · 24/11/2021 12:41

One a week to once a fortnight, depending on the weather for drying, how busy I am, if I can be arsed etc. In theory the 14 year old should do it himself, in reality he wouldn’t ever, so I do it to ensure he doesn’t contract some disease previously unknown to personkind.

TheStarOnTheChristmasTree · 24/11/2021 12:43

Younger teen every 2 weeks but really only need washing every month because she showers daily and doesn't get sweaty. Older teens when their bedding appears by the washing machine, I'd say every 6-8 weeks! I do all the washing but I don't get involved in the actual stripping/remaking of their beds.

caringcarer · 24/11/2021 12:43

Weekly and occasionally more frequently for male teen.
