What is your chore? How will you reward yourself? How long will it take? How is it going.

I am working on a maths assignment. It's not going well.

I need to go and do a food shop, it’ll probably only take half an hour or so as I’ll do it at the little co-op rather than brace a big supermarket as they’re always too busy on a Sunday. I’ll reward myself with a treat for after dinner, probably a cake or pastry or similar.

Yummypumpkin · 21/11/2021 12:08

@MolkosTeenageAngst good luck. You are on this.

It sounds awful but I am going to see MIL in hospital and then on to my parents. I love them all dearly but it will be a shit tonne of negativity.

MIL is acceptably negative, I will take her some nice food and be very up beat.

My DPs will be moaning about our ongoing family dramas, mostly fuelled by their own stubbornness. They won’t ask about MIL or be particularly interested in anything I’ve got to say.

I’m going to get a toast delivered for an early dinner to reward myself when I get back around 4ish.

That was a vent sorry! Hope your assignment goes well!

PhoboPhobia · 21/11/2021 12:10

Roast not toast. That would be really lazy!

Yummypumpkin · 21/11/2021 12:12

Ooh @PhoboPhobia what is a toast??? I need a reward and it sounds treaty.

Gosh that sounds like a lot of your day. I'm sure though if you find them negative they will find you a breath of fresh air. You will lift their spirits even if they don't show it. A good deed!!

De clutter old games etc. Sad, but has to be done for the space. Enjoy your maths.

RaisedByPangolins · 21/11/2021 12:31

I have to go to the tip so need to clear out the garage. Luckily eldest DC has sorted in all into a pile and i have tried to recruit the others to help me break down boxes. Reward will be a CoOp black currant ‘sundae’ (little fruit tart with shed loads of buttercream on top!) and a cup of tea when I get back. I’m easily pleased. To be fair I’d have the tart whether or not I did the chore so not really a reward, more delayed gratification.

Right, I’m on it!

Yummypumpkin · 21/11/2021 12:33

Go to it @RaisedByPangolins and @oneboy3girls!!

I have a co op....I like the idea of this blackcurrant sundae!

Sort the back garden leaves out. We have a load of TPO trees in there and this time of year the leaf admin is significant. Sigh.

FenceSplinters · 21/11/2021 12:35

I have got a tonne of marking to do for school tomorrow, as well as several wash loads and then shopping to do. I don’t know how I’ll fit it in 😭
I’ll reward myself by not having a sleepless night worrying about shit, but that’s unlikely!

Santaischeckinglists · 21/11/2021 12:36

Pre Xmas tree cleaning!! Windows etc as we are getting our tree next week end!
Prob no reward...

Tobchette · 21/11/2021 12:38

I need to prepare my birthing bag, which I've been putting off because I am dreading the birth after a horrible one last time.

I got half way through the other day and gave up when the bag was too small. Dh has brought a bigger bag up from the basement and it has been sat on the floor just waiting for me to fill it.

A580Hojas · 21/11/2021 12:38

I've swept up two bags of leaves in the front garden.

Next chore is to put a huge Waitrose shop away.

Third chore is speaking to my mother on the phone (sorry but sometimes it is a bit of a chore).

Fourth chore is doing a ton of washing up by hand because our dishwasher is broken.

I'll reward myself with a glass of wine or maybe a gin and tonic as it's Sunday at 6pm.

PurpleHydrangea1 · 21/11/2021 12:38

Piles and piles of washing 😩
We've been without a washing machine all week but new one got delivered this morning. We have about 11 loads to get through.

My reward will be a small glass of red with dinner and starting a new book this evening Smile

pregnantorkebab · 21/11/2021 12:40

I've just finished my main chore for the day - shower squeegee-ing the landing and stairs carpet 🤢 so much cat hair!! My reward will be a takeaway and some wine later Smile

inmyslippers · 21/11/2021 12:41

In work till 4 then need to laundry and cleaning. Going to pick up kfc on way home

Crunchymum · 21/11/2021 12:42

So many chores. The usual feeding everyone, washing, dishes. Plus all the "Sunday before school" shit - Baths, homework, packed lunches (I usually do them all later in the day as well) but me and DC2 are poorly horroble coughs, awaiting PCR results

Will get a takeaway pizza later and if we get the Covid all clear, I'll have a glass of wine too. For medicinal purposes of course Grin

DP isn't about this weekend, he works away during the week but as we came down ill we decided he wouldn't come back this weekend, just in-case it is Covid. He's picked up some overtime so that's an extra few hundred quid for the Xmas fund!!

Mucky1 · 21/11/2021 12:43

I have to clear out the spare room 🤦‍♀️ I have a killer headache and zero motivation.

Planesmistakenforstars · 21/11/2021 12:44

I'm selling part of my whiskey collection at auction, so have to have 87 bottles packed and ready to go for a pick up tomorrow morning. I have been putting it off all week. I will probably reward myself by buying more.

MuchTooTired · 21/11/2021 12:44

My chore of the day is not stuffing my face with junk and going to the gym. No rewards or treats, I’m changing my lifestyle completely Confused

Hoppinggreen · 21/11/2021 12:45

Bloody leaves everywhere which need raking and picking up.
Nice glass of red and a crappy movie on the sofa later as a reward

TurquoiseDragon · 21/11/2021 12:48

I've got DBro coming around for dinner at 6. He deserves it, he's working today as he normally does, as well as living at home and doing the bulk of the care for our poorly dad. Dad is on the mend, mostly thanks to DBro being there.

So my teens and I are doing all the chores right now. They're great kids. I work so chores tend to be at weekends anyway. And while dinner with DBro is nice, I'll be looking forwards to afterwards watching the Strictly results with my feet up and a pot of tea. And I have a rare day off tomorrow, with no chores to do, apart from dinner.

Itwasgoodwhileitlasted · 21/11/2021 12:49

I've tackled the grout in the bathroom this morning then made everyone bacon sandwiches (except me). I'm waiting to be picked up and taken out to lunch by my friend. Nice reward!!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 21/11/2021 12:52

I have a fuckton of laundry to do, so obviously I'm watching Murder, she wrote instead...

Luredbyapomegranate · 21/11/2021 12:53

I need to get off the bloody sofa, look at what we will eat for the week and sort a plan (I am trying to loose weight and it isn’t going well right now.)

I also need to do a sweep tidy up.

I feel a bit off and don’t want to do it / feel I ought to do much more.

Thank you for starting this thread! I am now encouraged to get up and start by making a massive pot of coffee.

Reward - episode of succession.
