One kid it’s a hobby, and two children is parenting

The duchess told chat show host Ellen DeGeneres that “Someone told H (Harry) and I that when you have one kid it’s a hobby, and two children is parenting.

I was a bit taken aback by this comment. I have one child and very much consider myself to be myself a parent, not a hobbyist.

In America these "tongue-in-cheek" remarks about parenting doubtless count as cutting edge humour.

Who was the last funny American? Was it Bill Hicks? I loved his, "It's always funny until someone gets hurt. Then it's just hilarious." And, "I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out."

My first daughter was so chilled. Slept well, ate well, hardly noticed when she was teething. She was a textbook baby. 2nd and 3rd now they were a shock 🤣
