I have to place a shoe on my car for Covid NO.3 Do you?

Tomorrow I get my 3rd Covid jab (I am CEV).
It's a mass drive through operation.

Just had a message from my GP surgery.

"Please place a shoe on your windscreen if you had a reaction of a rash/nettle type following your last vaccine.

Just so many questions regarding this.. if I place a wellie boot does that mean I had mega rash all over? A slipper means "ummm a slight tiny rash"........

Will they judge if its a dirty old dog walking trainer I place on windscreen?

Well if I was the nurse/receptionist, then I'd judge you Grin

Use a slipper sock - that'll confused them

Hand baby booties on your rear view mirror?

I've never heard anything so funny 😂 what if it's raining, who wants one wet shoe? 😅

Elieza · 12/11/2021 16:13

Time to look out the thigh length black leather stripper boots and place one in the appropriate position! Grin

I suppose a shoe is one way of attracting attention while remaining safe in your car.

Apparently you have to leave one as security in some places when you borrow something to make sure you don’t forget to return it.

Who knew shoes could be so versatile!!

thereisonlyoneofme · 12/11/2021 16:25

I think you are supposed to put the shoe on the inside of the windscreen!

ABitOfAShitShow · 12/11/2021 16:28

This made me properly lol. What even is this?!

TheDrsDocMartens · 12/11/2021 16:30

Do you drive through and stick your arm out the window? Do you switch the engine off? What if you can’t drive?

IntemperateSpirits · 12/11/2021 16:31

This has all sorts of potential to go horribly wrong. Imagine getting there and realising you've forgotten a spare shoe so you have so wiggle around and take off one of the ones you are wearing, and then you have to drive with only one shoe on, and then how does it get back on your foot? What if you drive off with it on the windscreen?

Mythroatisstillsore · 12/11/2021 16:34

I love this! 🤣

Helpstopthepain · 12/11/2021 16:34

I had my booster although sadly didn’t get to leave any kind of shoe on the windscreen! I think I would have gone for a Louboutin.

handsoffmychips · 12/11/2021 16:34

just put your knickers on your head instead to boost staff morale

Use a Cozy Coupe

This…. is confusing me on many levels. Please come back and update us on how this works Grin

NotMyCat · 12/11/2021 16:42

Mine was at a GP (third vaccine) but not drive through! I'm intrigued
I got lots of "oooh THIRD vaccine" and they ticked a special box (youngest there by about 40 years), walked in, barely sat down before she had jabbed me and bustled me out into the waiting room.
At which point I said given it's my third and you know I'm incredibly vulnerable, I'm going to stand outside, if I feel unwell I'll come back in as I'm not happy sat in a room with 20 others

1forAll74 · 12/11/2021 16:43

I am 79 now, but last week I discovered some old ice skating boots with blades still on, up in my attic room, I used to be an ice skater when I was 13 or 14, but kept the skates all this long time. I would use these, for the top of the car roof. I need to be noticed in my old age !!

BadwordMcGee · 12/11/2021 16:48

That's hilarious. But I guess it's an item everyone has

Cookerhood · 12/11/2021 16:54

How funny. We have to ask people if they previously got an itchy rash (the question only appeared when the boosters did). I haven't had a single person say yes yet, so the GP may not see a huge array of interesting shoes

I think you should just start wearing them to the supermarket. You only live once!
Ghoulette · 12/11/2021 17:18

I'd be ordering the ugliest (cheap) pair of stripper shoes I could find if I needed to do this Grin

What a bizarre request! Surely they could just.... ask?

Bigfathairyones · 12/11/2021 17:20

SO tempting to get a pair of the biggest shiny 70s platforms you can find.

Exactly.... just ask. I am.presuming they have to talk to me to check my name/DoB etc.... not just jab me silently.

Spoiling the fun here, sorry, but do you think it was autocorrect for sign? Wasn’t there a terrible decorated steampunk shoe on one of the Facebook tat threads recently? Sounds like it would be perfect for the job!

Oh that would make sense. I bet you are right. It's an autocorrect.

Please place a sign.... Grin

I am so putting a shoe on my windscreen tomorrow afternoon.
