Tomorrow I get my 3rd Covid jab (I am CEV).
It's a mass drive through operation.

Just had a message from my GP surgery.

"Please place a shoe on your windscreen if you had a reaction of a rash/nettle type following your last vaccine.

Just so many questions regarding this.. if I place a wellie boot does that mean I had mega rash all over? A slipper means "ummm a slight tiny rash"........

Will they judge if its a dirty old dog walking trainer I place on windscreen?

What if you don't have a car?! Hmm

Gladioli23 · 13/11/2021 22:05

Presumably you go to one of the many many centres and clinics that are not drive thru clinics!?

They offer some drive thrus in my area, but 95% of appointments aren't drive thru

There is an area for people to sit if they walk and be jabbed. Not sure what they do about the shoe factor.

Thankfully we didn't have rain today.

I'd be worried about falling off and causing further headache to the NHS in the process.

Hugoslavia · 13/11/2021 22:39

It has to be a glass slipper!

Chunkymenrock · 13/11/2021 22:46

Sounds like a drive through to pick up drugs. Grin

I had my booster 3 weeks ago and I'm now feeling incredibly disappointed at the lack of requested footwear on my car. I feel cheated.

Now if that’s not a gold plated excuse to buy a super lovely pair of new shoes, I don’t know what is… 😂🤣
Softkitty101 · 14/11/2021 09:03

The nettle rash reaction means 30 min observation rather than 15, so I guess they needed a visual cue for this.... "logic" being that everyone will have a shoe and you can't drive off if not wearing it.... yep can totally see this being proposed at one our vaccine planning meetings

Although I can confirm that most GPs and their teams who have been running these sites for 11 months have now lost most grips on reality Grin

Oldraver · 14/11/2021 09:08

Oh gosh I'm just off for mine at a different centre and had to check it wasn't drive through 😀

LemonWeb · 14/11/2021 09:11

Did everyone remember to take the shoe off before putting it on the windscreen?

Heatherjayne1972 · 14/11/2021 09:12

I think I’d assume this was a joke….
