Can anyone help identify a missing beloved soft toy!!

I have majorly fucked up….stayed in a premier inn last night and my 9yr old DD’s most previous White Rabbity was left behind 😢 Have contacted PI who said it wasn’t found in room and was most likely bundled off to their off site laundry service and basically there is no hope of getting it back! I have an inconsolable DD so hoping by the power of mumsnet it can be identified and maybe a replacement found! Picture hopefully attached of the precious rabbit - it was a christening present so bought around December 2012. Unbranded I think which doesn’t help! Does anyone recognise our little friend?? He looks quite plump in this photo, must be a bad angle as he isn’t really that round of body!!

Tatty ratty? Did he cone with a book?

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 26/10/2021 23:12

Jellycat?
John Lewis?

Hayati79 · 26/10/2021 23:14

It looks like it could be from Boots Mini Club? My eldest was born in 2012 and it looks familiar although could be Mamas and Papas?

I think he looks like a jellycat.

pastabest · 26/10/2021 23:16

I think your best bet would be ringing the hotel again and asking for the details of the offsite laundry.

At 9 years old a replacement isn't going to cut it.

WorryMcGee · 26/10/2021 23:21

Were his ears rigid or floppy? Did he have any beans in? I want to find him! I’m quite good at finding things online :-)

Whatevertheweather · 26/10/2021 23:22

Thank you all! Definitely not jellycat. I have done an image search on boots mini club, John Lewis and Mamas and Papas but can’t find him. He didn’t come with a book so not Tatty Ratty

I have asked PI to ask the offsite laundry but they wouldn’t give me their details to contact myself. Still praying for a miracle though!

Agree replacement just won’t be the same, I’m so cross with myself for not checking he was packed! Fear it’s a total needle in a haystack!

@WorryMcGee floppy ears with velvety bits inside. No beans. Scruffy fur (though that could be age I can’t remember what he was like originally!)

CLEAN Linen & Workwear have a contract with Premier Inn

Whatevertheweather · 26/10/2021 23:25

@Gingernaut sadly not a jellycat. We have several of those rabbits (and various other animals!) but White Rabbity was different. His fur was a little courser than a jellycat

We did exactly this. In the same hotel chain too with a bunny that looked exactly the same. How freaky. We didn’t get it back sorry. I think it was from mothercare. And was about £15. This was about 16 years ago though so may not have been the same one. It is absolutely gutting and we felt so so guilty about it.

Whatevertheweather · 26/10/2021 23:26

@Gingernaut - ooh thank you! I will send them an email with my begging photo tomorrow!!

Reverse image search him?

Daughterpanic · 26/10/2021 23:27

Op no help but offering sympathy. My 9 year old left her beloved toy at an attraction yesterday! Also sobbing herself to sleep I've been on phone for forty minutes trying to get through to access lost property.

IndecentCakes · 26/10/2021 23:29

We have one like that, he came from Gap. Have you got another pic?

Whatevertheweather · 26/10/2021 23:30

@ladygracie I do feel so guilty! Her little face at bedtime tonight when we realised 😩 We’ve always joked White Rabbity would have to go on honeymoon with her!

I’ve just had a reply from my sister who bought him and he was from the Ideal Homeshow at Christmas in London in 2012 - so basically no hope of finding a replacement as probably an independent seller 😩😩

ladygracie · 26/10/2021 23:33

Oh no, that’s awful. The only very slight consolation is that even if you got a replacement it wouldn’t be the same - my son had chewed its ear so much that we wouldn’t have been able to replicate it.
I can’t get over the similarities between the situations. He is now 18 and only mentions it very very rarely always when he wants to guilt us into something!

Mykittensmittens · 26/10/2021 23:33

Presumably it was white originally?

Long shot but the shape of this one, the eyes and head shape look the same? www.whiterabbitengland.com/gifts/bunny-book

Hairyfriend · 26/10/2021 23:35

Oh no- poor rabbity and your DD!

Try posting on this site. I believe it was set up for a dad with a child with SEN who has a specific cup, and wouldn't drink from anything else. Worth a try. Good luck in the search.

Hairyfriend · 26/10/2021 23:36

Could you say Rabbity went on a holiday, to freshen up and will return looking brand new???

MaryTeenOfScots · 26/10/2021 23:37

I hope you get him back!

If you don't - something similar happened to my sister when her beloved teddy bear was left at an airport. She was really upset as he went everywhere with her. My mum got another bear that looked similar and put him through the wash a few times to make him look older and well-loved. The new bear became as beloved as the old and my sister still has him now she's an adult. She was a bit younger than nine so may have been more accepting of the new bear, and I know it's not the same, but if you can't get the rabbit back it may help your daughter somewhat.

Whatevertheweather · 26/10/2021 23:50

Oh my goodness @Mykittensmittens that is him!!!! I can’t believe it!! He did come with a book I remember it now! Thank you so much! He hasn’t aged all that well but it is definitely him - first photo is from the link and second is him now!
