stealthninjamum · 22/10/2021 09:14

Awesome! From the thread title I assumed it would be chocolate or crisps. Your dd sounds wonderful.

bogeythefungusman · 22/10/2021 09:23

Sounds like something you'd have in a hipster cafe Grin

SequinnedShawl · 22/10/2021 09:23

Weird. Why did you all have to eat it? Hmm

That sounds brilliant! I might have that at some point over the weekend if DP goes out!
Peanutsandchilli · 22/10/2021 09:31

At least it was on the side.

Because we all eat the same food at meal times. So I fi had chosen scrambled egg on toast and tomatoes, that what we would have all had.

I am trying to not instil made-up food rules for my daughter (e.g. only can have cereal or toast for breakfast, or you must eat all your savoury before sweet, or you can only have salads in the summer/casseroles in winter etc)

Yum! In our house it would be Krave, or nothing. Sad

AliceTheCamelHasFiveHumps · 22/10/2021 09:34

so, like the other day for lunch, she was given a cheese and pickle sandwich, cucumber, peppers, tomatoes and a mini jammie dodger. It is all on one plate, and she can eat it in whichever order she likes.

I'm sure she would have been happy with it on the porridge LOL

Ugh this sounds like something my dd would eat. She’s well known for asking the rest of the family whether they’ll be eating their gherkins before they’ve even unwrapped their burgers. And she’ll literally eat them alone, she doesn’t even need them with a meal. Just a little snack of gherkins. I don’t know where she came from. Must try her with beetroot 🤮

Kanaloa · 22/10/2021 09:53

Although I don’t see the problem with it - why not let her be in charge of breakfast for one day! She probably thought it was a big treat.

justaddcandlelight · 22/10/2021 09:53

Thats such a fun and cute idea.

I am obsessed with gherkins! The sainsburys sliced ones (own brand) taste the most like McDonald's to me
ImUninsultable · 22/10/2021 09:58

Why do you all have to have the same thing for breakfast?

That sounds like a silly made up food rule to me.

It isnt like dinner where you're cooking a big meal and cant be doing several. Its breakfast. If someone wants porridge and someone else wants eggs, that's just 2 pots. Or someone might just fancy toast or melon or yoghurt.

You dont need to have a rule that breakfast must all be the same.

My kids can choose form eggs, pancakes, sausages, toast, yoghurt, melon or porridge on weekdays. They can have any combo. Weekends I throw in french toast or waffles.

It's the easiest meal of the day!

Thesearmsofmine · 22/10/2021 09:59

I usually let my kids help to pick breakfast, I absolutely don’t join them in eating them (unless it’s a bacon sandwiches),

Must pick some up for dd 😂 hopefully you’re eating them on a sandwich and not off a spoon like she does!
