I was a bit as I thought it meant 'arsehole' but he thinks it means OK.

Not the first time I've misinterpreted an emoji. I once got this one 💪 from my personal trainer while I was lying on my side and didn't have the rotate lock on so that I was looking at a 90 degrees rotated emoji. Tilt your head to the left to see what I saw.

I always assumed it meant 'be seeing you', but that may relate to my enthusiasm for Portmeirion.

I've decided to use the confusion to my advantage when dealing with people that I don't like. So I can reply to a message with "OK 👌" and have plausible logic that it means 'OK, perfect' when I know that I mean 'OK, you arsehole'. They won't know but it will cheer me up immensely.

I only learnt on here a while ago that a thumbs up isn’t all it seems, and not the innocent ok I thought it was.

A (male) work colleague used it in the group chat recently to describe just how cold the showers were at work. We all understood what he was referring to.

(The ok emoji by the way, not the aubergine one - quite the opposite 😂)
