DH sent a message to remind me to put the rice on. I replied that I had and he replied to that with 👌.

I was a bit Shock as I thought it meant 'arsehole' but he thinks it means OK. Grin

You’re funny OP Grin

@BlackAmericanoNoSugar

Not the first time I've misinterpreted an emoji. I once got this one 💪 from my personal trainer while I was lying on my side and didn't have the rotate lock on so that I was looking at a 90 degrees rotated emoji. Tilt your head to the left to see what I saw. Shock

It means OK to me, I think it's origin is actually sign language rather than scuba

FreeBritnee · 21/10/2021 19:28

It means A-okay. Bang on. Perfect.

Never did I think it meant arsehole 🤣🤣

EmeraldShamrock · 21/10/2021 19:29

I hope it means okay or else I've replied with a lot of arseholes.

BeenThruMoreThanALilBit · 21/10/2021 19:30

Also, do you think “arsehole” is a feasible response to confirmation that the rice is on to cook?

😂🤣😂

Incywinceyspider · 21/10/2021 19:30

It means ok, although some white supremacists are trying to claim it as "their symbol"

coffeeschmoffee · 21/10/2021 19:31

I think in Brazil it does mean arsehole. Any Brazilian mumsnetters around to confirm? Grin

EmeraldShamrock · 21/10/2021 19:32

Sad pricks. The piece of poo would appropriate along with a middle finger.

MajorCarolDanvers · 21/10/2021 19:34

OK

Dinafoxrocks · 21/10/2021 19:35

“Yes I’ve already put it on but thanks for the reminder”

“Arsehole”

🤣🤣🤣

VerveClique · 21/10/2021 19:35

It means ok. The finger and thumb is the O, and the other three fingers are the K. Grin

Well, I was a little surprised. But you know, 30 years of marriage can have an effect on people. It might have been the thing that tipped him over the edge. Grin

In the underwater diving world it means "I am okay and we can carry on (with whatever it is that we've agreed to do)".

Inanun2 · 21/10/2021 19:42

@JosephineDeBeauharnais

It means “spot on” or “ok”. Mind you, I’m saying that as someone who thought the aubergine 🍆 emoji was, well, an aubergine 🍆 Grin
Me too !
StarryNight04 · 21/10/2021 19:44

What's the 🍆 emoji then if it's not an 🍆 ?!

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 21/10/2021 19:45

👉🏻👌🏻 ?? Really 🤣

LetHimHaveIt · 21/10/2021 19:46

It means 'ok' in the West. You're absolutely right that it's deeply offensive because it means 'arsehole' in some cultures. I forget which.

Lulu1919 · 21/10/2021 19:47

Okay

LetHimHaveIt · 21/10/2021 19:48

Ah. In some European countries as well, in fact.

What does this emoji mean to you? 👌
MooChops89 · 21/10/2021 19:49

I'd say it's 'OK' but I also use it to say e.g. I was this close 👌🏼 to doing something (and my phone just suggested it as an emoji when I typed that)

Essen · 21/10/2021 19:49

Ok or perfect.

StorminaBcup · 21/10/2021 19:49

“I think in Brazil it does mean arsehole. Any Brazilian mumsnetters around to confirm?”

I’m not Brazilian but I think you’re right - I’m sure we were told not to do this on a favela tour!

BordelDeMerde · 21/10/2021 19:49

Yes, it means ok, everything's fine.

YesitsBess · 21/10/2021 19:50

WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND (excepting chefs) HAS EVER NEEDED TO SEND A PICTURE OF AN AUBERGINE? WHO?? Grin
VodselForDinner · 21/10/2021 19:57

I’d hate to know about the state of your arse if you think 👌🏻 resembles it, OP!
