I was a bit as I thought it meant 'arsehole' but he thinks it means OK.

I've Googled 'British Sign Language arsehole' and found a YouTube video that demonstrates it. The three free fingers are pointed downwards rather than upwards like the emoji.

Back when we only had the keyboard for things like :-) I used to think that < 3 meant fart.

Oh I might start doing that sign to my Brazilian ex and act innocent and say I just meant OK! 👌🤷‍♀️

I've scuba dived in Greece with Greek people and used 👌 as ok and not been arrested... Its the standard international symbol under water for ok as 👍 means to go up / or to surface and 👎 means go lower / go under water.

It can be offensive in some places apparently... many years ago we were warned before our school trip to Spain. I’m not sure if that helped or made certain classmates worse tbh 🤦🏻‍♀️

The Unicode Consortium that decides what new emojis to add is dominated by US corporations. No wonder we have a few emojis of weapons and violence (dagger, bomb, rifle, and arguably various tools eg axe) but none relating to sex. Hence the aubergine.
