For me...

Marmite
Carrot cake
Black pudding
Lucozade

I've got to fifty and all these have so far passed me by. The likelihood is that won't change.

I also have never eaten turkey @Flufferty. Also, burritos or any Mexican food - would like to try this actually.

Coriandersucks · 18/10/2021 21:34

That was to @DelphiniumBlue btw it was supposed to quote their message Hmm

DaphneDeloresMoorhead · 18/10/2021 21:40

Poached or fried eggs. Just the thought makes me feel sick
Doner kebab
Pot noodle
Many other things

springiscoming12 · 18/10/2021 21:42

“ The majority of the world don’t consume dairy.”

Would love to know your source for this statement Simonjt

muddyford · 18/10/2021 21:50

I didn't eat cheese until I was in my mid-20s. I thought it smelled like vomit.

Graphista · 18/10/2021 21:52

Sweet potato & Butternut squash.... think they will be very like swede

They're not they're much nicer and sweeter, love butternut squash in particular it's delicious

I am veggie now but wasn't until 16 so I've tried most things except stuff that wasn't really around then or would have been too expensive for my parents or they would have considered junk food and not bought in and which is meat based so

Scallops
Oysters
Fray bentos pies
Calamari
Ribs
Game (mostly although I've had venison and rabbit when very young but I don't remember what it was like)

I enjoy vegetarian black pudding and lorne sausage sometimes having had the meat versions when younger, they don't taste totally like the meat ones but not too dissimilar Veggie haggis too

Never had Cous cous op? Why? It's very easy to make

Kefir I haven't tried as yet and would like to

Marmite - I've found a lot of people who've claimed to have tried it and hated it didn't do it right. They had it very thickly spread on bread or toast (it's a very strong flavour a little goes a long way) or they've not used butter which makes it easier to spread thinly

I've never been to Nando's as there isn't one near me, I've been to kfc etc when I'm with others who are determined to go there but I make do with corn on the cob etc as they don't do veggie stuff really but given the choice even McDonald's veggie burgers etc I find pretty disappointing would rather go somewhere better and get something decent

Dairy consumption is a very western thing, very little dairy is consumed outside of the west (although India is an anomoly), although diary consumption is increasing worldwide. The biggest consumers of milk are Europe, North America and Australia, they’re also the areas with low levels of lactose intolerance.

If you look at basic population data and milk consumption you can see that there are more people not consuming dairy than consuming dairy.

Dairy is more than milk.

NetballHoop · 18/10/2021 22:06

I think the only thing mentioned so far that I haven't tried are pickled eggs.

I wouldn't ever try to force anyone else to try something they didn't want to, but I would encourage everyone to experiment.

Thinking about it I don’t see it for sale as much as I used to

Pickled herring and pickled egg

Nibblypiggotonabus · 18/10/2021 22:21

Never had a fried egg, thought makes me gag Confused

I'm baffled how people can get through several years without eating cheese, even accidentally. God I love cheese 🧀

I'll eat almost anything but
Avocado
Oysters
Pigeon
White pudding

ohthejoysoftoddler · 18/10/2021 22:25

I've never tried a bowl of cereal

Frazzledd · 18/10/2021 22:28

@ohthejoysoftoddler

I've never tried a bowl of cereal
Shut the front door! Not even dry cereal? Is it a milk thing?
ohthejoysoftoddler · 18/10/2021 22:30

@Frazzledd I've tried a few dry flakes of Frosties, and coco pops maybe. Yeah, a milk thing, I have an aversion to mushy food!

ColaPip · 18/10/2021 22:33

Thinking about it, there are more than i initially thought.
Black pudding
Haggis
Semolina
Tofu
Cranberry sauce
Bread and butter pudding
McDonalds apple pie
Ribs
Smoothies - hate the consistency.

Oh and never tried chewing gum. The idea turns my stomach for some reason.

Frazzledd · 18/10/2021 22:39
@Frazzledd I've tried a few dry flakes of Frosties, and coco pops maybe. Yeah, a milk thing, I have an aversion to mushy food!
I get that, I don't like mushy cereal either...trick is to wolf it down in 20 seconds, or add the milk first, then the cereal so it floats a bit....crunchy, milky heaven!

Also, not had Frosties in years! Its on this weeks list now Grin

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 18/10/2021 22:43

I just had a bowl of granola because of this thread Grin and I’ve put cornflakes on the shopping list!

amter · 18/10/2021 22:46
