Can someone explain what my son saw?

My DS (14) and his friends went for a walk deep in the woods yesterday. They came across four people standing in a circle with candles and markings on the ground. Two were dressed in all black, very smart, like priests. The other two were in normal clothes and were bleeding from their arms. My son said he saw them cut themselves, they were mumbling something inaudible while the two in all black held their arms in the air and chanted. When they realised they were being watched one of the people in black told the boys they were going to cut their heads off if they don’t leave. I know it’s true because one of the kids filmed it and I’ve watched it. Wtf!?

@BubblingBottle nope not pagan, it’s ignorant to assume pagans are evil devil worshippers. Satan was made up by Christians to scare people into the Christian faith. The moon phase and date are off for any kind of pagan rite.

This is a parenting forum populated largely by frazzled, middle class premenopausal women. We've been excitedly arguing about a second hand changing bag in a charity shop for several weeks now. The chances of any of us having insider knowledge of satanic forest rituals are quite slim, tbh.
Your answer is classGrin
@Zilla1 wrong thread ?
If you look back it's actually a reply in a really random couple of posts between these two (Zilla and IAmTheLovechildOfYvesAndIsabel) about Idris Elba being summoned 😆

Interested in this thread?

@BubblingBottle

Some sort of paganism thing I'm guessing?

Roughly where in the UK?

You get some right odd balls

I asked the OP if the woods were in West Sussex, because there are woods around here notorious for this kind of stuff, the county has a strong pagan, brutish past and it was the last county in England to convert to Christianity.
Zilla1 · 17/10/2021 12:46

@OverweightPidgeon perhaps I was summonsed from another thread?

To be fair that wound me up so much. Oh the entitlement.

There is a huge movement of psychiatrists who are currently saying that satanic and ritual abuse does not happen within the UK.

These photographs are absolutely terrifying for all people who have been told that their experiences they were sharing did not happen.

Totally understand why you don't want to share the video - I hope the police have responded now.

Never said they were Hmm

I'll tell you now it's equally ignorant to assume and say Satan was made up by Christians. Let me know when you've made the effort to read the bible cover to cover and still think this. I'll pray for you xxx

MrsLargeEmbodied · 17/10/2021 12:47

ahem, some post menopausal tbf or even menopausal

MrsLargeEmbodied · 17/10/2021 12:48

is it near Lewes op?

DGRossetti · 17/10/2021 12:48

Lots of rituals are sacred, not meant to be overseen or interrupted

In which case buy your own land ....

HollowTalk · 17/10/2021 12:49

I hope the police have responded, OP.

JessCat75 · 17/10/2021 12:49

Shame @Dbank...you missed the resounding "of course YABVU", then the obligatory dramatic flounce off!

BashfulClam · 17/10/2021 12:50

@BubblingBottle I have read the bible extensively and it’s the only place satan in mentioned, one religion. Please don’t pray for me as I don’t believe in your made up god.

Elphame · 17/10/2021 12:51

@BashfulClam

I don’t think it’s pagans, the full moon isn’t until the 21st, there is no blue moon this year for black Magic (yes it’s a thing) and it’s not Samhain yet. They probably just threatened them to get them to go away and your son shouldn’t be filming strangers , they should have just saw it and left well alone.
Many witches aren't actually ruled by the moon. It can be a lot more complex than that.

We're also a lot more pragmatic. If the second Saturday of the month works for everyone then the second Saturday of the month it is. Full moon or not.

I wouldn't bother reporting to the police. The practice of witchcraft is not illegal and that sounds like an empty threat designed to scare off some very rude teenagers who were filming strangers minding their own business.

Shedbuilder · 17/10/2021 12:51

@TonytheDog

I once found 67 pence inside a shoe in the woods.
Grin
LaBellina · 17/10/2021 12:52

That sounds terrifying and I’m sorry to hear your DS had to go trough that.
I hope these are not pagans (most of them that I know are peaceful and friendly). Probably Satan worshippers. Hopefully the police will deal with this.

Not very Christian of you to respond like that. You should be accepting of others beliefs, even if they believe Christianity made up the devil we did. I say that as a catholic

WitchesInTheWoods · 17/10/2021 12:54

@gardeninggirl68 There is no white building. That’s a white dress.

OP posts:
MrsLargeEmbodied · 17/10/2021 12:56

I agree @Elphame

it does sound like an empty threat

Shannith · 17/10/2021 12:56

OP maybe try posting this is Style and Beauty?

Whoever they are, the leggings with dress and white trainers look is OVER, if were ever a thing.

Either way, if I were Satan/whoever I'd be miffed only half of them appear to have made any kind of evil sartorial effort.

So maybe unfashionable mums rather than teenagers/film students.

A last desperate appeal to the gods to make their children sleep? Would explain the treat to cut their child aged people's heads off. Sleep deprivation is a terrible thing.

Well you did ask Mumsnet.

Quite right, I apologise. Though I suspect perimenopause is behind some of the more vicious bunfights Grin speaking from experience.
WitchesInTheWoods · 17/10/2021 12:57

@MrsLargeEmbodied and @JohnStonesMissus somewhere between Lewes and Hastings
