Can someone explain what my son saw?

My DS (14) and his friends went for a walk deep in the woods yesterday. They came across four people standing in a circle with candles and markings on the ground. Two were dressed in all black, very smart, like priests. The other two were in normal clothes and were bleeding from their arms. My son said he saw them cut themselves, they were mumbling something inaudible while the two in all black held their arms in the air and chanted. When they realised they were being watched one of the people in black told the boys they were going to cut their heads off if they don’t leave. I know it’s true because one of the kids filmed it and I’ve watched it. Wtf!?
@FreeBritnee do you ask christians why??
Yes!! But why the hell would you want to worship Satan over Jesus? It’s all beyond my comprehension. Are you slaughtering chickens in a cupboard?

AuntieMarys · 17/10/2021 12:31

Satanism looks a bit more fun

DigOlBick · 17/10/2021 12:31

Maybe educate yourself on what satanism actually is rather than being so fucking rude.

@JesusInTheCabbageVan

This is a parenting forum populated largely by frazzled, middle class premenopausal women. We've been excitedly arguing about a second hand changing bag in a charity shop for several weeks now. The chances of any of us having insider knowledge of satanic forest rituals are quite slim, tbh.

The majority of Satanists do not believe in Satan as an actual entity or worship him. He's merely a symbol for them.

Your aggressive post here is ruder than anyone else has been...
BubblingBottle · 17/10/2021 12:33

Some sort of paganism thing I'm guessing?

Roughly where in the UK?

You get some right odd balls

So aggression is part of it .... you are reeling me in already.
FuckingFabulous · 17/10/2021 12:33

The "ritual" sounds like a bloodletting, which has spiritual significance in many faiths and practices. Given that it was in British woodland, there was chanting and they appear to be wearing robes, I'll hazard an educated guess at a branch of paganism and it being a spirit bonding.

The threat to cut children's heads off sounds like a crime, and one I'd be reporting to the police. Lots of rituals are sacred, not meant to be overseen or interrupted and the timing and conditions need to be perfect, so chances are that these people were mightily pissed off, but you don't threaten to murder children, ever. Report that.

TonytheDog · 17/10/2021 12:33

I once found 67 pence inside a shoe in the woods.

DigOlBick · 17/10/2021 12:34

You’ve just accused my slaughtering animals. Yes I’ll be aggressive back to you. Imagine making such gross assumptions and stereotypes about other “religions”. You’d be rightly flamed for it.

GrandDuchessRomanov · 17/10/2021 12:35

You'd think if they were trying to summon the devil and lord of all evil the one in white trainers would have made more of an effort with their shoes.

DandyHighwayWoman · 17/10/2021 12:35
@Morgan12 They’re 14. Not young kids. We’re surrounded by woodland and the boys are all scouts. They like to go exploring in the woods and we don’t see anything wrong with it. It’s better than spending the day on an Xbox, surely?
That’s all very well but there’s threatening weirdos in the woods, I wouldn’t let my teens go wandering in there, scouts or not.

Could it be University Students trying to get into a group thingee (brain freeze)
& by the way we have frazzled post menopausal women on here too!
(very few of which -ahem- have any knowledge of Satanism or Witch Craft)

@JesusInTheCabbageVan I love you
HoldingTheDoor · 17/10/2021 12:36

They don't slaughter chickens either.

GrandDuchessRomanov · 17/10/2021 12:37

No idea what it is but it's no teddy bears picnic.

Shannith · 17/10/2021 12:38

@Shedbuilder

In an emergency like this, dial 666. That'll do the trick.

Not much blood to be seen in the pix. Very disappointed.

@Shedbuilder just... Grin

@FreeBritnee

Dear me. Just because you don't, doesn't mean other people can't or are wrong.

Sorry to bust your church, but satanism is actually far more tolerant and compassionate than Christianity. Genuinely.

BubblingBottle · 17/10/2021 12:39

Or practicing vampires /training vampires WinkBiscuit
@C8H10N4O2 Grin another possibility is that OP's son stumbled across the outing hobby everyone's DH has. Except there were only four of them, so that can't be it.
Well, it's what I shall picture when the mysterious husband hobby is mentioned in the future, rather than cycling Grin

Idroppedthescrewinthetuna · 17/10/2021 12:41

I hope police take this seriously.
Are these woods very close to you? If they are I would refrain from letting your son go out for a few days. If he is anything like I was at 14 I would have gone back (hopefully your son is more sensible than I was)

Not difficult. Christianity in my experience tends to be neither tolerant or compassionate.
