Can someone explain what my son saw?

My DS (14) and his friends went for a walk deep in the woods yesterday. They came across four people standing in a circle with candles and markings on the ground. Two were dressed in all black, very smart, like priests. The other two were in normal clothes and were bleeding from their arms. My son said he saw them cut themselves, they were mumbling something inaudible while the two in all black held their arms in the air and chanted. When they realised they were being watched one of the people in black told the boys they were going to cut their heads off if they don’t leave. I know it’s true because one of the kids filmed it and I’ve watched it. Wtf!?

Aww I feel really embarrassed now, it seemed like he was happy to be there but now I know he was just being polite. I suppose I should have provided snacks and bus fare home. 🥺

The police might be aware of them. Here years ago a mum showed me a rock table when we were out brambling. It had symbols carved into it. The police were aware of it.

It depends if they were consenting adults. One looks rather small and young from the back but could well be a short adult.

@SilverBirchWithout I don’t know how to post links but it was about a women who saw something in a charity shop and couldn’t buy it then and there and the staff wouldn’t save it for her. So she went back the next day but someone was already buying it and she thought they should have given it to her as ‘she saw it first’.

The children shouldn't have gone so close and shouldn't have filmed (any more than you'd film in a church, synagogue or mosque.

@TheSpottedZebra it's the son's friend who says his name as they are watching and filming, not someone from the ceremony itself!

@C8H10N4O2 another possibility is that OP's son stumbled across the outing hobby everyone's DH has. Except there were only four of them, so that can't be it.

You did the right thing reporting it to the police. Tell the boys NOT to return to these woods. You have no idea who these people are, what they are doing, or how seriously they take their rituals. Please emphasise to the boys they must steer clear. Ive no idea what these people are doing, but it looks sinister.

@IAmTheLovechildOfYvesAndIsabel I'm sure you're one of the ones he liked. He said he didn't dislike everyone. He's most annoyed with the relatively poor integrated transport planning and out of hours public transport in rural areas. He's conscious not everyone can drive and feels bad for people relying on local buses to get to work early. He's thinking of starting a campaign or running for elected office though can't decide if he should start with his local Borough or Parish council or aim higher and go for County Council or Unitary. He knows that might be too ambitious but was told County Councils have more of a role in Highways and transport.

If those photos are genuine I’d probably report just because the person in the last photo looks pretty small, possibly still a child?

And tell the kids to keep out of the woods.

I was once horse riding alone 'deep in the woods' as a teenager and came across something similar. Except mine had a variety of beheaded animals hanging from trees dripping blood rather than blood from the people. The pony was scared and we left at top speed. Horrible vibe. They were adults, not teenagers.

Used to frequently see pagans in another area but they were always very friendly people and had a nice tree they tied things to, and there were some standing stones nearby that they liked. I asked them about the black cloaked people and dead things and they didn't know what it was either but said nothing good happens with that type of thing and to avoid the area.

Never thought to call the police but did warn other riders.

It's funny what you come across in the woods. My cousin and her boyfriend were walking their dog in some woods over in northern Ireland and came across a large group of middle aged naked men having sex with each other. She recognised a few of them as they do alot of work for the local communities...these men have wives and try act holier than holy so it was a bit of a surprise for her.

Bloody hel!!! Imagine if they’d filmed that!
