Can someone explain what my son saw?

My DS (14) and his friends went for a walk deep in the woods yesterday. They came across four people standing in a circle with candles and markings on the ground. Two were dressed in all black, very smart, like priests. The other two were in normal clothes and were bleeding from their arms. My son said he saw them cut themselves, they were mumbling something inaudible while the two in all black held their arms in the air and chanted. When they realised they were being watched one of the people in black told the boys they were going to cut their heads off if they don’t leave. I know it’s true because one of the kids filmed it and I’ve watched it. Wtf!?

The difficulty is no one on here knows for certain what was going on. My advice is still keep away from those woods.

logsonlogsoff · 18/10/2021 19:24

Ah, near Lewes you say. That explains it. Deffo summoning the dark Lord then.

ohthestruggles · 18/10/2021 19:26

This is a parenting forum populated largely by frazzled, middle class premenopausal women. We've been excitedly arguing about a second hand changing bag in a charity shop for several weeks now. The chances of any of us having insider knowledge of satanic forest rituals are quite slim, tbh.

The best thing I have ever read on Mumsnet.

That’s weird. Defo deserves a call to the police x

@QOD

I think mumsnet is on acid today - full of bitchy witches

I'd love to be a bitchy witch 🤗 🧙‍♀️

Bebethany · 18/10/2021 19:27

WitchesInTheWoods So, have you any idea just what it was they were chanting, doesn’t sound like something along the lines of Buddhist chants & what if there’s a next time? Will you say ‘oh 999 is only for emergencies’ again? For what it’s worth I really don’t believe a word of what you’ve posted.

SatsumaPumpkinFace · 18/10/2021 19:28

@Aussiegirl88

Is everyone going to ignore the Green screened head that pops into the video at 0.06 seconds in the lower left hand corner.

Wha.....?
Off to watch it again.....

fitsandgiggles · 18/10/2021 19:28

@plumpuddisnice

There's some weird gaslighting vibes going on on this thread. Some posters are really trying push the line that people gathering in the woods, cutting each other and threatening kids that they'll cut their heads off is okay Confused

It isn't okay, it really isn't.

Yes I thought exactly the same reading this!
Marmelace · 18/10/2021 19:29

Hereditary lowly hedgewitch here, I can assure you the only things I sacrifice are strands of my hair when foraging for things, and as for rituals nah, not for me, I believe everything is sacred, I don't do circles, wear ritual clothing. I do talk to animals, birds, moon bathe, use herbs, craft. My beliefs are private and I wouldn't impress them on anyone. Harm non x

Newbabynewhouse · 18/10/2021 19:30

@Silveryslade

Lovely Christians they are aren't they... "leave before we cut your heads off" Hmm

Allergictoironing · 18/10/2021 19:30
**@Danzig, yes, I do. I say in my later post I should have added historically, essentially I was talking largely of pre-Christian pagan religions for which archeological evidence certainly has been found and which are mentioned by the likes of Bede. Many modern Pagan practices still reference some of the beliefs in the same deities etc And blood rituals do still exist, as talked about on this thread.
I would be very sceptical of "historical" evidence in writings from that time. Have a read up on what the Romans wrote about the early Christians for example. "History" is generally written by the victors.

@JesusInTheCabbageVan just choked on my tea 😂😂😂

It's one of the kid's heads isn't it? How come I didn't see that before? Weird.

TatianaBis · 18/10/2021 19:33

It’s just one of the kids that OP cut out before posting.

SatsumaPumpkinFace · 18/10/2021 19:34

So what did the police say when they came round tonight, OP? They just took statements? Was that it?

silveryslade · 18/10/2021 19:43

@Newbabynewhouse ? I don't understand your post. I never said, or thought they were Christians. And if you read my posts I said what they said was aggressive and sinister.

@Allergictoironing, what about the archeological evidence? (Or is that buried by the victors? Wink)

AlfonsoTheDinosaur · 18/10/2021 19:47

I saw it and ignored it because it seemed to be a spectator rather than a participant.

Agreed!!

Bunch of bloody weirdos on this thread challenging the OP for not punishing their child for filming this weird shit, making up extra weird shit then having a go at the OP about their own made up shit, starting arguments about even weirder shit and just generally being pricks.

This was weird. I would have filmed it too and also reported it just as the OP did. Some posters here just turned up full of agro for no reason and need to get a life.

Allergictoironing · 18/10/2021 19:58

Depends on the dating of the archaeological evidence really, and what the norm was at that time. As by definition all religions prior to the 1st century AD were considered pagan or heathen by Christianity once it became the "official" religion of the Roman Empire.

The incidence of human sacrifice was waning dramatically by the time the Romans came to power, and was in fact banned by the Romans long before the birth of Christ - while they were still multitheistic pagans.

HerRoyalWitchyness · 18/10/2021 19:59

Some posters here just turned up full of agro for no reason and need to get a life. says the one calling other posters pricks.

ErickBroch · 18/10/2021 20:11

The video was hilarious oh my god, I am not sure what I was expecting but it was more than that! Jeez Grin

silveryslade · 18/10/2021 20:15

@Allergictoironing but it did exist. Within Norse religious practices, in Celtic, in the Germanic tribes, for example. Modern paganism is often based on what is known of these beliefs and practices - the same gods / spiritual entities are acknowledged, there are blood rituals mentioned by practitioners of magic on this thread (although human sacrifice is obviously illegal). It's shocking but not because much of history is to the modern sensibilities very shocking and violent. I mentioned this subject in reply to several posters comment on the crucifixion of Christ and communion taken by Christians in remembrance.

This is the best quote I've ever read on MN. Thank you. :) :) :)

@Aussiegirl88 that’s just my bad editing. It was one of the boys heads.
