Can someone explain what my son saw?

My DS (14) and his friends went for a walk deep in the woods yesterday. They came across four people standing in a circle with candles and markings on the ground. Two were dressed in all black, very smart, like priests. The other two were in normal clothes and were bleeding from their arms. My son said he saw them cut themselves, they were mumbling something inaudible while the two in all black held their arms in the air and chanted. When they realised they were being watched one of the people in black told the boys they were going to cut their heads off if they don’t leave. I know it’s true because one of the kids filmed it and I’ve watched it. Wtf!?

I’m not that well informed but isn’t satanism more about the separation of church and state when it comes to law making in society?

So more akin to a fancier type or atheism than devil worship? As most satanists don’t believe in God or the devil and don’t believe laws should be based upon the assumption that they exist (see abortion laws in the US/Republic or Ireland).

Thank you @SoupDragon!
I can't not see the scary face somehow - i suspected I was wrong though! I've drawn arrows to where I though I could see the eye and mouth, just to try and justify my wrongness Grin!

I am now musing on how many rituals you could get out of a Mumsnet sacrificial chicken...

I'm dying! 😂

In my (admittedly wrong) view, it looked a bit like Voldemort Blush

Thing is though if they are weirdos surely they are fucking nasty weirdos so glad the OP has reported. I can see the humour in it but I don’t automatically think it’s harmless.

Pinkflask · 17/10/2021 13:18

I teach A level film and media and the majority of the videos I watch are filmed in the woods and very many have parents roped in to act (it’s amazing how many middle-aged people love any excuse to ham it up on camera!). This is basically exactly the sort of think I’ve seen a million times (plus kidnapping, stalking, mafia deals, serial killers by the barrel load etc).

Beeziekn33ze · 17/10/2021 13:18

Three of them were female? Some wannabe cult leader and his partner trying to sign up a couple of new members. Which one threatened the boys/pesky kids?

Absolutely right to make the police aware of weirdos in the woods and report the threat.

Waiting for a Norn Irn poster who is about to LTB because she has suspicions about his outing hobby…

But isn’t the Old Testament basically the Jewish bible?

More solar here - Samhain will be on the 6th November for us. With the quarters being solar based we use the same for the cross quarters. This year it falls on the Saturday which is convenient so the rituals will be performed on the 6th.

Assuming this isn't a troll post I wonder if the teenagers interrupted an initiation ritual? Two in robes, one ( the seeker) in white and the rest in dark clothing. Blood would not be out of place.

Not sure whether to be sad or amused that so many have jumped to the conclusion that this is a "satanic ritual".

Chikapu · 17/10/2021 13:21

@mollycobbles

Am I seeing the same thing in the first photo as everyone else? It looks like a scary figure with its head thrown back and its mouth open?!
That's the back of someone's head, don't let your imagination run away with you dear.

This is a parenting forum populated largely by frazzled, middle class premenopausal women. We've been excitedly arguing about a second hand changing bag in a charity shop for several weeks now. The chances of any of us having insider knowledge of satanic forest rituals are quite slim, tbh.
This thread needs to be in classics just for this comment 🤣🤣🤣

@WitchesInTheWoods having knowledge of the area you mention there is a lot of 'spiritual' and pagan connections in the area. Sounds to me like a break away group. Wondering if this could be woods near me 😬

Greydaysandrainbows · 17/10/2021 13:23

@WitchesInTheWoods

The video is identifying because the boys are whispering to each other but here are a few screenshots
They can do what they like as long as it doesn’t threaten others or offend others or cause others stress and anxiety - however this covers all Of those. So yes police. Threatening to cut their heads off - I hope they are charged for that

Fucking Emos 🙄

MamsellMarie · 17/10/2021 13:25

The one in white is tall and very wide of beam, thick calves.
And the long dark blonde hair on the left is quite notable.

HerRoyalWitchyness · 17/10/2021 13:25

But isn’t the Old Testament basically the Jewish bible not exactly. In Judaism they believe to satan is a verb, and refers to difficulties or temptations to overcome. The devil being an actual being was all Christianity.

@DigOlBick

Some pagan rituals bond with blood. I’m a satanist but have not come across anything like this in my circles. Could well just be people mucking around. It’s October after all.
Wtf are you serious?
