Very lazy, and say nothing, don't you think?

Any others anyone can think of?

@butterflyze

The words 'anxiety' and 'anxious' when used by people who are just a bit worried about something specific and relatively minor.

One of my family was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder (by both her GP and a psychologist) several years ago, so I am aware of how anxiety has a profound effect on someone's whole life.

You don't have 'anxiety' when you are worried you're going to miss the bus, you are just a bit worried.

This!

Anxiety is a natural, normal feeling. There'd be a problem if we didn't worry now and again.

Anxiety that requires medical help is anxiety that is constant, crippling and over things that are not worth worrying about.

It's getting to be a fad now that everyone 'has anxiety'

@Welshiefluff

Literally all the sodding time.

Literally this
Literally that
Fuck off!

Especially when used incorrectly

Saw a Made in Chelsea advert the other day and some prick is saying "You are literally pouring gasoline on the fire" to a girl who was simply just standing in front of him doing nothing

JohnStonesMissus · 14/10/2021 23:14

Sheeple..

JohnStonesMissus · 14/10/2021 23:16

Oh and Mumpreneur, it gives me the fucking rage.

YourFinestPantaloons · 14/10/2021 23:17

@wtfisthatspiderdoing

I hate the term Rainbow Baby which I had never heard before MN. It's so sickly and twee. And yes I've had multiple MC. When reading the infertility threads and people start banging on about having a rainbow baby I have to tune out.
Same!

DD came along after I had a miscarriage. I'd never call her a rainbow baby because I think it's pretty crass to define your actual living child by something that happened to you before they even came along.

Read the Room - where did this start ?
I’ve also noticed a recent one on social media of describing your baby /puppy/kitten /whatever as a dream or dreamy. Somehow this makes me think of the chocolate bar .

LadyWithLapdog · 14/10/2021 23:24

“I’ve done my research”
“Going forward”

Could he be autistic OP?

GetFitOrDieTrying · 14/10/2021 23:58

"Picky tea, chippy tea", "tea" in general unless it's a cup of tea.

"Well that's just me"

"In our house we..."

All this "naice" business

"What did you say when you asked him/her" (knowing full well the OP hasn't asked)

"Just tell him to leave" (if the man is abusive, he's not just going to walk out)

(Suspected affair) "just ask him" or "his face will tell you all you need to know"

People saying they'd leave their partner for the most ridiculous things when in response to an post, knowing they really wouldn't

People on Instagram stories saying "I'm just jumping on to.."

People on SM who write a dramatic cryptic post then when somebody asks what's up, they say "inbox me hun, people are too nosey on here"

Spa day is the answer to everything

God there's so much more!

lottielimejuice · 15/10/2021 00:02

@SylviasMotherSaid I actually used that phrase “read the room” today. Don’t know why I said it and hope I NEVER say it again!

ChristieMalry · 15/10/2021 00:03

'[anything]-friendly'

Eg dog-friendly, vegan-friendly etc. What's wrong with 'dogs allowed' or just 'vegan'? Always said in a commercial context and a business isn't your friend. They want your money!

thisgardenlife · 15/10/2021 00:46

At the end of the day (though to be fair I'm guilty)
Mental health issues - for everyday ups and downs

acceptance · 15/10/2021 05:56

Agree re anxiety; I have anxiety (full name cptsd with OCD, generalised anxiety disorder and depression) - it means I at present talk to a mental health professional at least once a day, see a community mental health team, take two different strong medications to get through the day and struggle at the worst to even get up to get a glass of water because I have a persistent, irrational thought that I’m going to die .

I’d give my left arm to go back to being worried about catching the bus, as this existence is hell on Earth .

See also, I’m a bit OCD, it’s manic here today, a little bit psycho etc .

Burnerphone21 · 15/10/2021 09:00

On a positive note, I don't hear the bastard word proactive nearly so much as in the noughties which is a relief. I used to sit silently in staff meetings counting how many times it was used.

Also guesstimate but that seems out of fash now 😂

Burnerphone21 · 15/10/2021 09:04

Using 'research' to mean googling. But also those smug memes which attack anyone daring to say 'I researched fairy liquid' because they didn't read a load of journal papers. It just means systematic investigation. Both uses are correct.
