Reaching out
Any sentence that mentions being on a journey if it’s not referring to travelling.

Gaslighting

I agree with this. Lighting farts is really annoying.

Clevs · 14/10/2021 21:49

Going forward (management speak).

DerAlteMann · 14/10/2021 22:00

"Share with you". No, you're telling us.
"Excited" when used in connection with any sort of work change/new venture.

Annabelle69 · 14/10/2021 22:00

"Thoughts & Prayers"

Said by people who have put zero "thought" into that statement and can't even be bothered to hide their faux concern. Nor do they intend to do anything about (insert terrible incident) because saying Thoughts & Prayers covers it.

I hate the term Rainbow Baby which I had never heard before MN. It's so sickly and twee. And yes I've had multiple MC. When reading the infertility threads and people start banging on about having a rainbow baby I have to tune out.

Influencer speak, i agree. I'm so excited to share the details of my new project. Cant tell you the details yet but check back later. Ooh ill just sit here and bite my nails while pressing refresh every ten seconds. Usually accompanied by one of thise cartoon pictures of themselves.
oakleydo · 14/10/2021 22:16

Im true to myself (on reality tv)

StealthPolarBear · 14/10/2021 22:17

To say I'm... is an understatement.

Well pick a better word then and use that instead

"A couple of things from me" in meetings... pointless time wasting

Tiredmum100 · 14/10/2021 22:18

@butterflyze

The words 'anxiety' and 'anxious' when used by people who are just a bit worried about something specific and relatively minor.

One of my family was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder (by both her GP and a psychologist) several years ago, so I am aware of how anxiety has a profound effect on someone's whole life.

You don't have 'anxiety' when you are worried you're going to miss the bus, you are just a bit worried.

Yes I get this. I was recently off work for about 11 weeks with anxiety. I wasn't a bit worried. I literally couldn't function. It was the worst time of my life, I have never felt so full of fear, terror and worry in my life. I never truly understood anxiety until then.

I must admit I did say: 'work smarter not harder' to someone y'day.
Mostly because a. they were being insufferable about 'being up since 3am working on their new book' (insufferable as in 'what have you even done today?' when we spoke at 11am) and b. because, after a 20 year friendship gap, they bought me a 'work smarter not harder' type time management book. But HATE it being quoted back.
But,(clearly) they don't annoy me at all as I am very #bekind Grin

PaperhouseLegs · 14/10/2021 22:29

Oh god and "Momma Bear" Envy (not envy)
As in "I went all Momma Bear". It's just awful.

‘ and activist’ as an add on to a job title

BrilloPaddy · 14/10/2021 22:35

Any form of Covid hysteria. 18 months on, and guess what, you're still alive. Calm the fuck down please.

"Slow handclaps" or "High Fives" another user. It is such a horrendously rude and patronising thing to say. We all have opinions, the point of a forum like MN is to share them. If you don't like it, tough shit. And grow the fuck up.

Maverickess · 14/10/2021 22:35

Moving forward

And although it's a valid thing to say I'm sick to death of 'Duty of care' being thrown around to justify treating anyone who has a doc like shit. See also vocation.

Boak - I don't get this, but it could be a regional thing because around here it's 'bork'.
