Literally a castle (Scotland!!)

TheDogsMother · 14/10/2021 10:56

West Sussex

Not the exact 1.65 but close. This house which will be great when it's finished !! www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/111342461#/?channel=RES_BUY

Or a 3 bed apartment in this www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/71553906#/?channel=RES_BUY

TheDogsMother · 14/10/2021 10:58

@TravellingSpoon

I'll take it

Imagine all the cleaning.

Wow that's an amazing house
minipie · 14/10/2021 11:00

SW London zone 2/3, that buys you a 4/5 bed Victorian terrace with small garden. Possibly would have loft and side return extensions done for that, possibly not depending on exactly which area and catchments etc.

minipie · 14/10/2021 11:01

£1.65m near me

Ticksallboxes · 14/10/2021 11:13

Not much. The first five entries on RightMove are not in particularly nice roads and this one is opposite a noisy primary school. Shocking prices.

Ticksallboxes · 14/10/2021 11:16

Actually that property is right next to the school, so super noisy and not very private. It really didn't look like it was worth that much when I picked up my DCs, but it looks amazing inside now.

LakeShoreD · 14/10/2021 11:18

Basic Victorian terrace with loft conversion and patio garden

Jimmyshoes · 14/10/2021 11:30

2 bedroom period conversion flat in South Kensington

Peanutsandchilli · 14/10/2021 11:33

10 bedroom detached with a 'mud room' that's twice the size of an average bedroom, plus £150k to spare.

UnitedRoad · 14/10/2021 11:36

Boundstone Road, Farnham
www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/113527118 but I’d far rather buy the house in Carmarthen that was posted earlier. Not that my budget is anything like this high!

MsSquiz · 14/10/2021 11:37

This comes in under budget, but I'm in love with this house, especially the garden:

Runnymede Road, Darras Hall, Ponteland

@Chasingsquirrels I think I look at similar RightMove settings to you!

If you can eek your budget out to £1.75m, I rather like this one:

www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/100477205#/

Or if you want to be in Cambridge, this is the same money:

www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/113952533#/

Utter madness!

I don't even want to move anymore, late-DH and I were passively looking to for somewhere together that was ours instead of mine.
I'm happy where I am, I don't know why I still look at Rightmove on such a regular basis!

And I'm not, and have never been, in that price bracket anyway.

Maybe the same reason my £ slider goes way beyond anything I'll ever afford! Love to dream!

Mrbob · 14/10/2021 12:13

Not much that costs that much near me. But would get you a luxury 4-5 bed/3 bath right on the sea front with a pool. Beautiful miles of sand. 20 minute drive to the CBD. And 40 minutes to wine region.
But that’s Australia

Isseywith4witchycats · 14/10/2021 12:15

11 houses in my street west Yorkshire 2 bed 1940's semis

stayathomer · 14/10/2021 12:21

£1.65m would buy most of my town!
Same here. In my mums area you'd possibly get something that was nearly a mansion but not quite. A tiny 4 bed around there costs over half a million euro and when they come to visit us we get lots of rich comments (we live in quite a plush 3 bed bungalow on half an acre that cost us less than 150k euro)

DinosaurOfFire · 14/10/2021 12:22

www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/105563336#/?channel=RES_BUY This is the only option above the £1.5m bracket in my county.

MauveMavis · 14/10/2021 12:23

My dream home. Well ideally I'd like to be further up the tower but at least this one has the right aspect.

I can keep dreaming.

Nice house in a nice area but I think that's an eye watering amount of money for it:

Keladrythesaviour · 14/10/2021 12:26

Probably a nice done up country cottage with garage and decent gardens. Edge of the Cotswolds.

Keladrythesaviour · 14/10/2021 12:32

@The4ks

www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/108201668?utm_campaign=property-details&utm_content=buying&utm_medium=sharing&utm_source=copytoclipboard#/&channel=RES_BUY This is the most expensive property within 20 miles of me. Most expensive in my town is a 6 bedroom detached with an outdoor (in North East Scotland!) swimming pool for £625,000!
Do they do competitive ski jumping on that roof in winter? Grin
Gonnagetgoing · 14/10/2021 12:33

In my area a few streets away a small detached property sold for £1.275 million aporox 3 years ago. It’s on the street my parents live in and they were shocked by this price. But it’d been done up, but extended and loft conversion before and was a wreck before to make the money. It is a very popular street for young families though.
