Within 10 miles of me you could get this 8 bed detached property for £900,000

This is exactly 1.65 million.

BIoodyStupidJohnson · 14/10/2021 08:07

I’m in Edinburgh. That kind of money buys you stuff like larger three-bed flats in one of the city’s most overpriced developments, or something like a four-bed period terrace somewhere like Stockbridge. Some of the really big two-level New Town or West End flats would go for something in that ballpark to AirBnB hosts who take no responsibility for the behaviour of their ‘guests’ Angry

LadyCatStark · 14/10/2021 08:07

Oh and you get an extra bungalow thrown i into the price! Plus 1.88 acres.

MakkaPakkas · 14/10/2021 08:08

DS and DH have worked out that wherever you live you can get 6.6 million chicken nuggets for that price.

This is the most expensive property within 20 miles of me.
Most expensive in my town is a 6 bedroom detached with an outdoor (in North East Scotland!) swimming pool for £625,000!

Siriisatwat · 14/10/2021 08:14

The most expensive house within 5 miles of the dump that I currently live is £600 😂

It’s nice enough. Shame that you’d have to have it like fork knox so if it wouldn’t get broken into and that the two closes schools are ones you’d avoid like the plague.

Siriisatwat · 14/10/2021 08:15

£600k that should read. six hundred, I’d be living in Shrek’s swamp (not far off).

RampantIvy · 14/10/2021 08:18

SouthYorkshire

This 6 bedroom house

This 7 bedroom house

This 10 bedroom house

You could have this in Oxfordshire with 5 acres but close to the train line.

How about this? You'd have plenty of change left for hymn books

5/6 bedroom 2 bathroom Victorian end of terrace or semi detached with average sized town garden.

maofteens · 14/10/2021 08:30

A very nice three bed flat or a four bed terraced house near the local park (Wimbledon). The houses actually on the park are terraced double fronted four beds that go for over £2m. The flats are closer to Wimbledon Village so have a premium.

6 bedroomed detached house with massive gardens in a very posh area

Patapouf · 14/10/2021 08:38

It would get something really nice, but not a mansion and no pool or tennis court 😩

Built on the side of a very steep hill, no garden to speak of, but I still rather fancy it.

Kljnmw3459 · 14/10/2021 08:41

You can get a nice 4-5 bed detached house with a small garden. Or a nice sized 3 bed mid-terrace townhouse with a small garden.

Porridgeislife · 14/10/2021 08:41

South Bucks/Berkshire border - a nice but not amazing 4 bed home in a village, 10 mins drive to a station and naice town.

Fern Lane, Marlow, Buckinghamshire, SL7
www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/112988843

Family homes are roughly £600/psf around here.

mdh2020 · 14/10/2021 09:02

Maybe a 4 bedroom semi-detached house in a quiet road in North West London. House prices here are ridiculous, always have been. We are on the edge of the countryside; its 12 minutes by train to King’s Cross and we have good State Schools and some of the best private schools in the country.

TravellingSpoon · 14/10/2021 09:21

I'll take it

Imagine all the cleaning.

BrilloPaddy · 14/10/2021 09:24

Like a PP said, it won't get you a lot in Cheltenham. House prices here are insane.

OatMilkLatte · 14/10/2021 10:06

I’m in North Yorkshire and the most expensive property in the immediate area is just under a million -

www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/101111822#/?channel=RES_BUY

With six bedrooms and a turret I wouldn’t say no Grin

Further afield you could get a lovely country manor if you found another £100k or so down the back of the sofa -

www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/88469509#/?channel=RES_BUY

Having said this, I think the most ridiculously priced property in the area is a tiny 2 bed cottage on for over £300k - madness!
