Other than a few minor teething problems that let's face it no one could have ever predicted.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha.
I do enjoy a good joke.

Billandben444 · 13/10/2021 18:47

Yawn...

LaurieFairyCake · 13/10/2021 20:22

I am 100% sure the OP is being sarcastic

With no lorry drivers, no one to pick brocolli or pumpkins, 1.5 mn jobs unfilled, no one to work in abattoirs or do any building work ...

Or drive buses..

We're proper fucked

LaurieFairyCake · 13/10/2021 20:23

We need 5000 HGV drivers apparently

And 20 from the EU have applied this week when the government opened the borders for this one specific job..

Really, really fucked

DroopyClematis · 13/10/2021 20:43

Brexit is going swimmingly here...no pasta, washing up liquid, toilet roll, CHARDONNAY!!!!!!, barely any fruit and no dog food. ( oh and the freezers at Tesco seem a bit empty.)
Other than that, we are still walking on sunny uplands ( a lovely field where the sun shines and the dog frolics) and we now have real , actual petrol!
Now we can move our daughter's shite to her flat , that she moved into three weeks ago but had no petrol to do so.

Strawberry, raspberry, plum, apple, cherry and multiple other harvests , around where I live, have just abandoned their crops as there's no one to pick them. Even students , used in previous years, can't be bothered to pick.

But I think Brexit has been really helpful because .... erm... ok... hang on a minute... yeah ... oh that's right.. Liz Truss , Tory, thought it was a disgrace that two thirds of our cheese was imported...🤔

tiredanddangerous · 13/10/2021 20:45

It's going so swimmingly that not a single person who voted for it will admit that they may have made a bit of a mistake Hmm

Rainbowheart1 · 13/10/2021 20:50

Doesn’t matter if we stayed or left, there was always going to be pros and cons either way. No which way was perfect, hence why it split the country 50/50.

ReturntoSpamfritters · 13/10/2021 21:16

I can't really think of any cons of staying in the EU, to be honest. We didn't have any problems that couldn't have been solved by voting in a decent government, who could have taken sensible decisions.
Never mind, being gaslit on a hourly basis by a mythomaniac is so much more fun!

That’s not true. I voted for it and am completely prepared to admit it was a mistake.

Except the other way worked for many years
Kendodd · 13/10/2021 21:24

Has anyone mentioned Northern Ireland yet?

'Even students , used in previous years, can't be bothered to pick. '- Objection! It's 'not can't be bothered', it's such overwhelming debt they recognise it's un-manageability and go 'fuck it'. Why labour in fields to pay off a debt many should never have had to take on in the first place, but, given the absence of any post 18 education, bar uni, that's what they've done.

It matters very, very much.

You assume equal access to the cognitive ability to understand the choice laid in front of them.

ReturntoSpamfritters · 13/10/2021 21:28

I think that businesses in NI were pleased with the EU's offer today. I'm glad that some people are acting like grown ups.

Thank you. I foolishly bought into the notion of what ‘could be’, and unsurprisingly, look back and think FFS, what an idiot.

Many people were beguiled by the promises of shiny things. Have some wine WineWine

LilyPond2 · 13/10/2021 21:38

Anyone remember, "They need us more than we need them"? Among Brextremists, the narrative now seems to have morphed into, "It's all the EU's fault that Brexit isn't going swimmingly". Either that or blaming businesses for problems created by Brexit that individual businesses have no power to solve.

StealthPolarBear · 13/10/2021 21:40

The wine is vwry much had. Wine from outside the eu, obviously. That said ill admit liebfraumilk was a disaster.

It is going swimmingly well. All the hardships currently undergone by people least able to weather them are all part of the grand master plan. Just a blip.

It was all foreseen and everyone who voted brexit knew what they were voting for.

Kendodd · 13/10/2021 21:42

@RoseRedRoseBlue

Are your friends/family Leave voters? What do they think?

I find the vast majority of Leave voters are absolutely welded to their vote and would burn their own house down before reconsidering their position.

I sense the sarcasm. You just wait fifty years. Life will be all fluffy clouds and unicorns and you will eat your words.

It didn't split Scotland 50/50
RoseRedRoseBlue · 13/10/2021 21:46

@Kendodd all my family voted Leave, but we are not close so there was no sense of influence. Friends were a mixed bag.
