Other than a few minor teething problems that let's face it no one could have ever predicted.

@Imwearingtrousers

I'm not sure if I'm more angry than I was 5 years ago if that's even possible
Me too. Five years ago there was disbelief and an assumption someone woukd step in and sort it. Now we're just sitting in the shit.

Sorry I've no time for people saying "oops silly me made a mistake "

Too fucking late and you're part of the problem

@ssd good job I’ve got no time for you either! As you were.

I get it, but people makes mistakes and we need cohesion now, to get our government to DO something.

Not individual blame.

thistimelastweek · 13/10/2021 21:53

@StealthPolarBear 50 years ' time the planet will be crisped.

Try arguing the benefits of global trade then.

(Clever us turned our backs on our neighbours.)

thistimelastweek · 13/10/2021 21:55

And I am still furious!

ssd · 13/10/2021 21:59

I'm not part of the problem. I didn't vote to leave, I'd chew my arm off first. I get forgiveness is lovely and everything but i don't forgive anyone who voted for this shitshow. The evidence was out there if they could be bothered to read it.

politics4me · 13/10/2021 22:12

Prior to the Referendum I recall many speeches from German and French politicians about closer and deeper integration. I did not want that.
Those leaders were also planning common tax arrangements set by Brussels. Did you want that?
Was that a good move of Merkel to open the borders to a bunch of undocumented single young men? The problems they caused to women in Cologne on a New Years Eve. Was that good?
Brexit was not meant to be an event. It is a project.
It does not matter how individuals voted, what matters is are you willing to work for the success of your communities?

frumpety · 13/10/2021 22:14

As the goalpost's of managing expectations have moved considerably since the halcyon days of 2016, can anyone tell me where we are with Government 'promises ' when it comes to Brexit ?

Echobelly · 13/10/2021 22:18

I know it is so infuriating. I mean, of all bloody things to put to The People. Do you know one of the reasons I voted Remain? Aside from obviously it was the sane thing to do. Because I don't understand how this union shit works. I am not stupid, I have a good degree but I'm prepared to admit I didn't know what leaving would actually mean though i couldn't see any benefits from what I did know.

I honestly still think a significant minority voted for it in the belief that next day it'd be done, we'd have left, we wouldn't have to give the UK any money any more and that was all.

And I'm so angry fucking Cameron did this to the country to settle a intra-party fight, arrogantly believing that of course everyone would vote Remain, forgetting how his party had ignored swathes of the country who had been repeatedly told BY THEM that the EU/immigration was the source of all their problems (Narrator: 'But the source of all their problems was, in reality, the Tories')

FrancescaContini · 13/10/2021 22:20

Well I imagine that the NHS is still waiting for its extra £300 million a week.

Kendodd · 13/10/2021 22:23

I am!
I'm going to campaign to rejoin starting with joining the SM and CU, that would solve all the problems in Ireland that we've caused by voting Leave. I think it'll be a long, long time before we're allowed back in the EU but I think they'd let us in the CU and SM almost immediately. It's the only sensible option, unfortunately, I realise the British public are mostly to stupid to see that.

I also lay the blame pretty squarely at Cameron’s feet. Funny how he resigned the day after the referendum 🤔

DroopyClematis

But I think Brexit has been really helpful because .... erm... ok... hang on a minute... yeah ... oh that's right.. Liz Truss , Tory, thought it was a disgrace that two thirds of our cheese was imported...🤔

I love that clip of Liz Truss's speech.
Everytime I feel low, I play it and suddenly everything shit in my life doesn't feel shit anymore.
I laugh everyone I see it.

It never gets old Grin

rrhuth · 13/10/2021 22:28

@Rainbowheart1

Doesn’t matter if we stayed or left, there was always going to be pros and cons either way. No which way was perfect, hence why it split the country 50/50.
It didn't split the country 50/50 because it was hard to tell between the two choices in terms of which would fuck up the country most, it split the country because a lot of people refused to engage with the issues.

Brexit was a fucking stupid idea. Britain is in a proper mess.

To anyone who voted for it - thanks a fucking bunch!

politics4me · 13/10/2021 22:31

My biggest disappointment is the feeble government we had after the decision was made.
Teresa May so bumptious thought we would accept the Brexit in name only. Some ego!
She sacked all the hard working people like Davies because he knew she was wrong. She even had a team of Special Advisers conducting secret negotiations for her to undermine the official Gov appointed negotiators. The EU decided they need not take us seriously, May would give in. She did have to go.
How stupid was she to call that election that left her relying on Unionists.
The one good thing that is not acknowledged is that we were given the chance to decide and we did. Can you imagine how we would be with UKIP still snapping away. They would be stronger, and probably have MPs at Westminster.

rrhuth · 13/10/2021 22:34

Hardworking? Davis? He is an empty bag of wind.

The one good thing that is not acknowledged is that we were given the chance to decide and we did. Confused shame the country made the wrong choice. FFS.

Kendodd · 13/10/2021 22:36

Wtf are you talking about? The Tories have become UKIP, the only thing they don't have is Farage.

ReturntoSpamfritters · 13/10/2021 22:36

Brexit is a project Ha bloody ha. Brexit is a tissue of lies.

Obsidiansphere · 13/10/2021 22:39

It’s a fucking disaster…as many of us predicted 🙄

ReturntoSpamfritters · 13/10/2021 22:40

@politics4me have you been at Gove's secret stash?
May was rubbish in many ways but at least she sought a compromise that wouldn't completely shaft the UK.
She obviously didn't realise the depth of the insanity gripping some of her fellow Tories.

zoemum2006 · 13/10/2021 22:45

I will never stop being furious at the con job. They offered something “leaving the EU” and the turned round and said “ leaving the single market” even though the vote was never on that and that’s what’s causing all the trouble.

But somehow Social media has tied the vote with vote with people’s intrinsic personality and value systems so no one can now call them out on their BS.

Unphased · 13/10/2021 22:46

Ok, let’s look at the situation at the moment,
Is the energy rises caused Brexit, No
Was the fuel crisis fully caused by Brexit. No,
Is Supply problems fully caused by Brexit No,

Most of the major issues are at this moment worldwide and mostly caused by the worldwide pandemic
