Following on from the ' have you met abs infamous criminal' thread. Has anyone met a celebrity (bonus points for really famous) and were they nice?

OP posts:

I don’t normally approach celebrities but my husband noticed Noel Fielding chilling out on Santa Monica Pier with a few friends/entourage

I don't think he'd have an entourage, only really the real high a-listers like DiCaprio/Jennifer Aniston would have them.

KitchenDancefloor · 14/10/2021 23:45

Cilla Black is always mentioned unfavourably on these threads. Why is everyone so vague about why she was disliked? There must be something specific that she used to do.

I've met and been underwhelmed by Paul Hollywood. He really believed in his own PR and thought a lot of himself.

Shesoffbakeoff · 14/10/2021 23:45

My sister met Gok Wan in Cardiff.

Sitchervice · 15/10/2021 00:06

Also my cousin dated Christopher Eccleston. He apparently was a bit of a creep and stalked her after she dumped him!!

RussianSpy101 · 15/10/2021 00:07

I’ve met quite a few as I spent a lot of time in California when I was younger. Jenifer Aniston is very smiley and happy to wave as she goes about her day but doesn’t really stop.
Martin Lawrence - lovely
Joan Rivers - lovely
Ellen Degeneres - rude and arrogant
Piers Morgan - lovely
James Corden - rude and arrogant
Freddie flintoff - lovely

RussianSpy101 · 15/10/2021 00:08

Oh and Jessica Ennis is one of the loveliest woman you could ever meet. Very friendly, down to earth and just a genuinely nice and kind person.

FranceTeam · 15/10/2021 00:13

I’ve met Danny Boyle when I was an extra on a film he was directing who was lovely and very down to earth and introduced himself by shaking hands, and asked a few questions before the scene.

Almostdue94 · 15/10/2021 00:13

Back in the 80s through work I met quite a few. Two of nicest were Kim Wilde and Glynis Barber. Also Nick Kamen and Simon Le Bon were lovely.

Reluctant to say but Jacob Rees Mogg he’s not exactly a celebrity. He was at a dinner at the university- and didn’t do or say anything notable but I’m told by the catering staff that the wind he let off was Nagasaki level. The people around him moved and the chef was quizzed as apparently there were complaints (!)
Chef said seasonal normal

Eggsdancing · 15/10/2021 01:00

She was wealthy, but understood emotional suffering on a deep level

I don't see why wealth would make her unable to see it or have any relevance to that. Wealth can't protect one from turmoil and suffering any more than poverty can.

Has anyone met any of the other Spice Girls

my ex-landlord used to work with them in the 90s, he said Mel c would tell him she's the only 1 that can sing. Thinking about it, it's probably pretty true.

Zipperdidoodaa · 15/10/2021 01:23

Tom Daley - the nicest person you could wish to meet. Happy to chat and went out of his way for us to have photos with him.

PomBearWithoutHerOFRS · 15/10/2021 02:07

My niece is autistic, and went to a non mainstream school. When she was out and about "travel training" as they called it, her and her one to one TA met Warrick Davis and his wife in Hobbycraft at a large retail park on Teesside.
He was lovely, chatted away to her for ages, never missed a beat when she say on the floor "to see you better", and answered all her Harry Potter questions patiently. Even when his wife eventually had to tell him they needed to get going, he said "in a minute, I'm talking to my best fan" and posed for pictures.
Neice is in her 20s now and still remembers the day she met Professor Flitwick Grin

Noel Edmonds, when I worked in a hotel, came with his daughters and their friends (all stunning).he was sitting in the middle and was very rude and did the absolute pet hate by raising his hand and clicking his fingers.
The same hotel hosted lisa from steps wedding, so a lot of celebrities and music people there, all were lovely apart from Lee (from steps) he wanted a free drink but I didnt actually know who he was and the free drinks were not being served from the bar I worked in (cocktail....free drinks were in the main bar). He wasnt happy that firstly I didnt know who he was (one of my colleagues told me when he left) and secondly I wouldn't give him a free drink anyway. Lee cattermole, played for Sunderland at the time, meet him at another job I had (again didnt know who he was until after he left and I mentioned to a colleague 'that man smelled nice') he was lovely, polite and genuinely nice.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 15/10/2021 08:11

Peter O'Toole - friendly and charming
Brad Pitt - lovely but a bit shorter than I thought
Rik Mayall - crazy and lovely

I once saw Phil Collins actively avoiding a fan to the point of looking away from them. This was after a TV interview there were only a few people waiting so he wasn't at risk of being mobbed. It was so obviously a snub and left her in tears.

YouHaveAHeartOfGold · 15/10/2021 08:31

Chas n Dave - spent ages chatting and posing for photos. Very friendly and happy.
Leigh Francis - Same as above.
Jamie Theakston - knob
Chris Eubank - Very smiley and engaging.
Tony Robinson - On an aeroplane, lots of people shouting out “it’s Baldrick” he took it in good humour.
Lee Evans - Shook hands with and thanked a lot of fans for coming after a stand up show. So happy to read other nice comments about him as he comes across as very sweet and humble.

We sat opposite cabin crew on a flight once and got chatting about famous people that have been on their flights. She told us Cilla Black was the worst. Very very rude and demanding.
