So what exactly are 'we' going to do about our misogynist Prime Minister?

Not that I expected anything different.
Howww.theguardian.com/politics/2021/oct/06/tottymeter-and-girly-swots-how-johnson-shows-women-respectwever this summary of his misogynist statements over the last couple of years is worth reading, I feel.

Why is he still in power? And which ones of your made the mistake of voting for him? (I didn't)

Narutocrazyfox · 07/10/2021 07:19

He's in power - and will stay in power - because there's no one else worth voting for. Instead of voting for the party I actually want, I've spent the past three GEs voting against the party I don't want (Labour).

The other parties are a joke.

WhoWearsShortShorts · 07/10/2021 07:20

Oh goody another thread for Labour supporters to bash tory voters as unintelligent morons who voted because "Boris Johnson is funny". Do you actually think that?

Joystir59 · 07/10/2021 07:26

The masses will still vote for him cos he is a celeb in the media.

Blessex · 07/10/2021 07:30

@WhoWearsShortShorts don’t worry. It’s lazy thinking. And I am hoping we are getting closer to the emperor’s new clothes being revealed for what they really are. Either that or labour are going to WAKE UP.

For the love of Betsy - do you have so little trust in people - & we are not voting for a president - the conservatives are quite brutal when getting rid of leaders. I was speaking more about some policies to do with women , not who is the PM at the time.

PermanentTemporary · 07/10/2021 07:36

'We ' can't do much except vote against him, or join the Conservative party and work to install a better leader [not my plan].

I do think this idea that z vote for someone is a total personal endorsement of everything a party has said and done is a bit ridiculous. Voting is a choice you make between options, much like choosing between the bacon that's out if date and smells funny or the egg that is definitely off.

GoWalkabout · 07/10/2021 07:39

I think there's a lot of decent and talented people in the conservative party, not Boris. There used to be more in Labour and the lib dems, but they seem to have vanished.

Gingerkittykat · 07/10/2021 07:41

That article was painful to read.

The answer is we, as a country, will do nothing about Boris. If he can get away with comments about letting bodies pile high during the early days of Covid then he will get away with anything.

Corbyn sidelined them all and Starmer hasn't got the backbone to reinstate them.
elephantfan · 07/10/2021 07:43

That was re labour of course.

BasiliskStare · 07/10/2021 07:44

@Thekolschisonme - no I do not think all Labour MPs are women haters - I just wish some of them could have stood up for women - not bashing at all . Here's one I think did , II like Rosie Duffield ( Labour MP ) - She gets a big clap from me

WhoWearsShortShorts · 07/10/2021 07:46
@WhoWearsShortShorts ohph dear yet another thread where people bash all labour voters and mps as women haters Confused. Do you really think that ?
What on earth are you talking about?

Blessex · 07/10/2021 07:46

David Lammy called us dinosaurs Angry

BasiliskStare · 07/10/2021 07:51

Well just quickly - Boris does say some stupid things & he does - but they have overseen the furlough scheme which has helped many and by goodness we will have to find a way of paying for that, & they are standing up for women. I just so wanted Keeir Starmer to be good but his speech at their conference just sounded like an 11 year olds wish list for the NHS

beigebrownblue · 07/10/2021 07:53
@Blessex I just think some people don't know what misogynistic is & therefore I am careful about how people care for my rights to be a woman ( Adult Human female ) & the only party I have seen sticking up for this is the Tories.

To be fair I thought the furlough thing was good - kept lots of people / families afloat.

It may change

But I am bored with people implying the Conservative Party is a Bullingdon Club , Crony thing. Not one of the opposition benches stood up and said - no you can be a woman and someone cannot self identify - Now there will be those who disagree but I clapped when I saw those women speaking in defence of women and you just can't self identify.

This is a point for me & until someone else says it better - I'm with them - Boris having 3 wives or being a bit Henry VIII - don't give a flying wee about the man - but they are the only party standing up for women.
Yes that's right. Some people don't know what misogyny is.
Cue Dominic Raab the 'justice secretary'...

Perhaps he might look it up in the dictionary now.

BubbleCoffee · 07/10/2021 07:54

I've been impressed by Liz Truss recently. Not least the comment 'Women do have vaginas, Nick'.

Thekolschisonme · 07/10/2021 07:59

@WhoWearsShortShorts don't you think that smearing all labour supporters as misogynistic is somewhat wearing too ? Tories are not standing up for women at all, they are tactically keeping quiet whilst labour admittedly shoot themselves in the foot.
Funny how you never hear a tory voter discuss the fact that our government is truly corrupt Hmm and has passed legislation that really does negatively impact womens' lives. Labour isn't actually in power.

I HAVE NEVER VOTED FOR HIM I posted that people think he is funny as that is why a lot of people do. they seem to see him as "good old Boris" not for the sexist racist wanker that he is.
Blessex · 07/10/2021 08:06

@Samcro you know what tho. I vote for a parties policies and how that party behaves - not for individuals.

Sexist and racist currently is a word I would give the Labour Party.

Blessex · 07/10/2021 08:08

@Thekolschisonme the Conservative equalities minister is standing up for women.

elodie77 · 07/10/2021 08:12

I think people are in for a shock if/when Rishi Sunak becomes leader of the Conservatives/PM. He isn't the saviour some of you might imagine. He will be ruthless, far more so than Boris who is just incompetent.

PattiPritell · 07/10/2021 08:25

'raucus squakus from the anti-aukus caucus' was v funny.
And sending 'the corduroy Communist cosmonaut' into orbit was good.
