@gogohm

Oh and saw a great one with Sheila Hancock but can't remember name, bbc films
Is that the one where she climbs a mountain? I saw it on TV last year, lovely film but I can't remember what it was called either!
EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 04/10/2021 18:52

It's called Edie

LaundryFairy · 05/10/2021 13:26

Leave No Trace is absolutely amazing - properly moving story of a father and daughter living in a state park. Full of the good of humanity.

@WithLargeTableMouse

Shag is a fantastic film!

I went to see it in the 80's with my friend, I've never known anyone else who has seen and loved it.

Wild Rose is brilliant!

Saw it in the cinema with my daughter, she loved it too, I bought the DVD, and I always cry when Rose is singing at the end.

I only watched boy The Nun's Story for the first time last weekend. Found it a bit glum.

My best friend had it in VHS when we were kids and we watched it so many times. I only know one other person as an adult who’d even heard of it, people are missing out! Grin

Hope Floats with Sandra Bullock and Harry Connick Jnr. Just a really sweet love story with some serious house porn.

ImFree2doasiwant · 05/10/2021 15:13

Following for later

Eeiliethya · 05/10/2021 15:15

Deliver us from Evil.

Eric Bana is just SO FUCKING FIT and it's a really good horror. Based on a true story.

But my god, Eric, I watch this film as often as I can get away with, he makes me drool 🤤

Autumngoldleaf · 05/10/2021 16:02

Keeping mum.

For a thread like this, perfect! Unusual, quirky... Brilliant acting, very funny.

BearSoFair · 05/10/2021 16:04

Another Round. It's in Danish but absolutely absorbing, I laughed, cried, and couldn't believe how quickly 2 hours went by!

AliceMcK · 05/10/2021 16:13

Best Little Whore House in Texas (loved it as a kid even though it was completely inappropriate, still love it) Also Dolly kicks Whitney’s ass when singing I will always love you.

Divine secrets of the ya ya sisterhood

@WithLargeTableMouse

Oh they are!

It's a most underrated film.

zukiecat · 05/10/2021 18:04

Just Visiting

A medieval Count from the 12th century and his servant find themselves in 21st century Chicago, and must get back to the 12th to prevent the count killing his intended bride, due to him accidentally drinking something not meant for him.

It's silly, but it's a lot of fun, DD2 and me quote from it all the time Grin

freshcarnation · 05/10/2021 20:45

Party Party. An eighties film.

zigzag12 · 05/10/2021 22:21

Just finished watching 'Turn The Key Softly' as recommended earlier - lovely little film!

EarringsandLipstick · 05/10/2021 22:25

Oh mentioning Steve Carrell reminded me.

Hope Springs with Meryl Streep & Tommy Lee Jones.

It didn't get great reviews, but I saw it recently & thought it was so beautifully acted & with such believable characters (even if the storyline was a bit daft). I was really moved.
