Lamb pie with mini potatoes and I will make cauliflower cheese and other veg. Dds don’t like pie so it’s chicken and Yorkies for them.

@IWillWoooTheGhoulWillow how do you make the chicken in white sauce please? I love to batch cook but get bored of mince based dishes, and I love that idea, never occurred to me before

Ellarain · 03/10/2021 14:52

Rib eye steak, creamy mash with spring onion, mushrooms, beer battered onion rings and pepper sauce.

cricketmum84 · 03/10/2021 14:53

@Icenii

I've got a mushroom, barley and chestnut stew in the slow cooker and homemade bread, but I've put too much stout in the stew and it tastes tinny. Don't know how to rescue it.
You need to add sweetness. Either a little sugar or some sort of chutney or redcurrant jelly or cranberry sauce. It will counteract the bitterness.
Doublechins · 03/10/2021 15:07

We had a roast in Wednesday so having chilli con carne today

Joystir59 · 03/10/2021 16:00

Just had an M&S pizza and salad.

@BoomChicka

Of course! It's this recipe from TOMM website/book.

225g chorizo, sliced
1 onion, chopped (I use frozen diced ones!)
1 tube tomato purée
500g passata
1 clove of garlic, grated/chopped (I am lazy and use the tube stuff)
4 chicken breasts, chopped
100ml red wine
1 chicken stock cube, crumbled
salt and ground black pepper

Put everything in the slow cooker, stir and cook on Low for 8 hours.

It's our go-to quick and lazy meal as you just bung it all in there and leave it. My favourite kind of cooking Grin

cliffdiver · 03/10/2021 16:22

Rib eye steak topped with Gorgonzola, served with spinach and a jacket potato.

SolitaryTree · 03/10/2021 16:27

Chicken schnitzel with mash, veg and cheese sauce. Maybe chocolate melt in the middle puddings and cream afterwards if we’re hungry enough for pudding.

Kate3150 · 03/10/2021 16:28

Sausage, mash & beans x

Pikamoo · 03/10/2021 16:30

Tomato sauce and breaded chicken to go with pasta. Easy and tasty.

TurquoiseDragon · 03/10/2021 16:30

Goulash tonight, with cabbage and potatoes on the side and dumplings.

poppymaewrite · 03/10/2021 16:32

Mushroom and onion pie with a puff pastry top, served with peas and potatoes.

ifigoup · 03/10/2021 16:40

We’ve been at a birthday party and eaten lots of beige buffet food so I’ll probably just do something like lentil soup, crackers and cheese for tea. Still beige but at least contains a few vitamins.

Quornflakegirl · 03/10/2021 16:49

I’ve made a beef and ale pie which is now in the oven. We’re having it with chips, broccoli, carrots and gravy.

Sh05 · 03/10/2021 16:53

I've done tandoori fish fillets with potatoes and a salad.
I've also got some chicken breasts sitting in a marinade for wraps for the teens tomorrow lunchtime

Breathmiller · 03/10/2021 16:56

We had a very autumnal feeling Sunday lunch.

Sausage casserole with onions and carrots. Potatoes, cauliflower, green beans.

Baked cinnamon plums with ice cream.

Thecatisboss · 03/10/2021 17:02

As DH and I still recovering from covid I've made roast onion soup and bread rolls for dinner as its nice and simple. DD has pulled a face and wants heinz Tomato soup as that's nicer than homemade apparently.

MintJulia · 03/10/2021 17:09

Venison sausages with shallots, bacon, mushrooms, garlic, red wine. I can never be bothered cooking a roast but this takes about 10 minutes effort and is delicious.

WormYourHonour · 03/10/2021 17:11

We're having Mr Brains F (yes I'm censoring the word, I hate the word.. but I love the food) having them with mash and sweetcorn.

Vicliz24 · 03/10/2021 17:13

A Waitrose prawn curry with carrot and spinach rice. Will add a tin of chick peas to the curry. Then ice cream for pudding- yum 😋
