If you are in London, I’d your heating on right now?

Just trying to work out whether I should give in and put it on…

Close enough and yes

HollysBush · 02/10/2021 13:19

South of London. Not on right now, but was early morning.

burritofan · 02/10/2021 13:30

Just for a little bit to take the edge off. Too hot now!

Had to put extra blankets on the bed last night and definitely had a “it’s too cold to emerge from the duvet” moment this morning

Barwell76 · 02/10/2021 13:35

I dont really understand asking this question.
You may be in the same general location but all houses are different, some retain residual heat and are nice and warm but some are cold and draughty for a variety of reasons -age of house, insulation, double glazing, whether detached /semi/flats, how much sun they get etc

RedMarauder · 02/10/2021 13:36

Nope.

My windows are still open.

smallandimperfectlyformed · 02/10/2021 13:37

Suburbs SE London/Kent border. It was freezing this morning so had it on for a short period but live on the 3rd floor so it gets too hot quite quickly, it's off now!

shivermetimbers77 · 02/10/2021 13:38

Nope, still too hot in here for me! (New build , retains heat like a flipping greenhouse)

OverTheRubicon · 02/10/2021 13:38

Not yet. Soon though

TheQueenOfDreams · 02/10/2021 13:38

I’ve just given in and put it on.

Coffeepants · 02/10/2021 13:39

Nope… think our place retains heat anyway but nowhere near switching on the heating yet 🤷🏽‍♀️ My husband and I always see who will be first to cave. I pride myself on not switching it on before November 1st. It’s not that cold yet, usually feels needed once we hit single digits.

MurielSpriggs · 02/10/2021 13:40

Why ask us? If you're cold put it on!

Milkbottlelegs · 02/10/2021 13:41

I never turn my heating off. The radiators come on depending on the room temperatures. They have been coming on in the morning the last few days.

vajingleberry · 02/10/2021 13:43

I'm in SW France and seriously considering putting the heating on!

TheCategoryIs · 02/10/2021 13:44

No, but we live in a very warm flat where the central heating is never actually turned on. Individual radiators are sometimes turned on in the very depths of winter.

My old place was poorly insulated and I’d have it on.

chesirecat99 · 02/10/2021 13:45

Drafty old Georgian listed building here with very little insulation, single glazing etc. I currently have the window open with no heating and it's fine. However, the heating is on a thermostat and it has been switching itself on in the early mornings/evenings this week.

buttermutt · 02/10/2021 13:46

not right now but may put it on for washing instead of tumble dryer. i'm trying to reduce my bill as much as possible, I will probably buy an oodie

EvilRingahBitch · 02/10/2021 13:48

I haven't touched my thermostat for the last six months, but the heating came on spontaneously yesterday.

userxx · 02/10/2021 13:51

@RedMarauder

Nope.

My windows are still open.

Same and I'm in the north.

Letsplough · 02/10/2021 14:01

Yes

tickingthebox73 · 02/10/2021 14:01

Do people not have thermostats? Mine just sits on a specific temperature and it comes on when it is below that Confused. That said its been on in the mornings for a week or two now, and is cutting in today.

Hapoydayz · 02/10/2021 14:04

Windows open and heating on. I like the fresh air but don't want to be cold

Notcontent · 02/10/2021 14:19

That sounds very expensive!

AlfonsoTheDinosaur · 02/10/2021 14:24

No. It doesn't go on until it's been very cold for a while and then it goes on only to take the chill off.

lillylemons · 02/10/2021 14:24

no heating on dh wants to put it on though.

Milomonster · 02/10/2021 14:26

Central. Nope. It’s chilly but manageable but it’s getting close to switching it on.
