Just trying to work out whether I should give in and put it on…

1hr last night because I have young children - if it was just me I would have layered up. Will likely do 1hr tonight too

WhiskeyNeverStartsToTasteNice · 02/10/2021 14:28

Not in London but not a million miles away. Literally just switched it on.

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 02/10/2021 14:28

Essex. Just put it on because ds said he was cold, just need to take the chill off

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 02/10/2021 14:29

No, I was a polar bear on a previous life.

Nocutenamesleft · 02/10/2021 14:38

I did. For the first time last night. Not in London though.

Etonmessisyum · 02/10/2021 14:39

9 degrees here in Scotland raining & damp house isn’t cold though so if it was I might pop it on to take the edge off, ive not used the heating in this house yet as normally it’s quite warm. I feel the cold so sat with a fleecy blanket on my legs but everyone else is warm - 4 others in house. So I tend to go by them than me or everyone would be sweating

freshcarnation · 02/10/2021 14:40

Yes

NippyNippy · 02/10/2021 14:41

Going to have to put ours on for a while to dry the sodden football boots and goalie gloves so they don't stink.

dreamingbohemian · 02/10/2021 14:41

Haha. Literally just put it on! For the first time this season. My excuse is I'm ill.

SmallPrawnEnergy · 02/10/2021 14:47

@Hapoydayz

Windows open and heating on. I like the fresh air but don't want to be cold
Meanwhile some of us are worrying if we can actually afford to put the heat on this winter. How the other wasteful half live eh.
alligatorpeardrop · 02/10/2021 14:47

No, jumper and socks on

OompaLumpaLabrador · 02/10/2021 14:49

We are a bit outside London. Heating isn't on, but I've cranked up the Aga and am glued to it. Will put the fire on if I am brave enough to try the living room. I suspect heating will be on later as upstairs is really chilly.

We've had a busy, outdoory morning, so feel no need to go anywhere else today. I'm lobbying for sofa and Strictly tonight.

ChequerBoard · 02/10/2021 14:50

About an hour north of London, have lit the log burner for the fist time today to take the edge off the chill.

TartanJumper · 02/10/2021 15:02

Kent, very near to outer London.
No, but I'd put it on if I wasn't so stubborn... sitting in several layers + blankets on the sofa.

Take it your fixed tariff hasn't come to an end.

Sarah2384 · 02/10/2021 15:05

Just put ours on very low. It's not all that cold here but the air is so damp because of the rain; it's more of an attempt to dry things out a bit.

MauveMavis · 02/10/2021 15:34

Thought about it but didn't put it on.

Flat has warmed up during the day.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 02/10/2021 15:36

Yes ... I can't ever remember putting the heating on this early on in the autumn. The house felt damp and chilly.

DH stressing about gas price rises .....

SoupDragon · 02/10/2021 15:37

South London and yes, I've had to put the heating on. It's cold and miserable!

Hm2020 · 02/10/2021 15:37

Central London in a large period flat and no heating on yet although extra fleece on bed and just sorted through winter pjs so probably not far off

Dreamstate · 02/10/2021 15:41

No way its not that cold! I felt cold sitting about in a tshirt but putting on a hoodie has stopped that.

MatildaIThink · 02/10/2021 15:42

West of London in the home counties, heating not on.

GreyhoundG1rl · 02/10/2021 15:43

No. I'm actually finding it quite clammy with the rain. It's that crappy rain that's not remotely refreshing.

Crunchymum · 02/10/2021 15:59

Had it on 6am-7am but not since. Actually have the windows open (3yo has a tummy bug.... I'm airing things out)

sunshinesupermum · 02/10/2021 16:02

No. It's damp out but not cold at home.
