Would you do this ADHD diagnostic quiz and share your answer?

I've done this quiz which is meant to provide an estimate of whether you might have ADHD. It shouldn't be used for diagnosis, there are lot of caveats for it.

But I am thinking "but surely everyone does that" about a lot of the questions. I'd be really interested to get a range of answers from a range of people, if anyone is willing to share.

For what it's worth, I've done it twice on different days, scored 76 and 62. Their threshold for "possible ADHD" is 70+. I don't really believe anyone can score less than 50 and I'd be fascinated to know if I'm wrong.

I got 11! What the hell is wrong with me?? Surely can't be good to be at either end.

Poppins22 · 16/01/2022 12:06

12

Jacaranda75 · 16/01/2022 12:18

@Snowisfalling33 it is interesting, because in spite of being very bright, I am a complete failure of a human.

lostinabook · 16/01/2022 12:19

58 and never considered for ADHD

bicyclesaredeathtraps · 16/01/2022 12:22

83 and I'm diagnosed with inattentive type adhd

alittlepieceofme · 16/01/2022 12:23

I scored 39, I was diagnosed with ADHD last year at age 39!

Random789 · 16/01/2022 12:25

I got 81. I generally put my problems with focus down to depression, and I wonder if depression might 'contaminate' the answers. However, I do feel that I must have some level of adhd.

That's a really upsetting thing to hear and I'm sure that objectively it isn't true.
Quizzes like these need to be taken with a large pinch of salt but what they can do is help you to understand how your brain functions and what you can understand you can plan for and take control of.
I've found it incredibly helpful that instead of constantly beating myself up for being "useless, awkward or having a bad personality" I'm able to privately acknowledge my ADHD brain and plan for a better outcome next time.

I got 19
Jacaranda75 · 16/01/2022 12:26

@Snowisfalling33 I have been feeling really down about myself the last couple of days. It never occurred to me that there could be something genuinely wrong with me.

ILoveYouMoreTheEnd · 16/01/2022 12:27

Offt I got 109! I have been diagnosed with Quiet BPD but I would like to be assessed again. What do you guys think? Xxx

amusedbush · 16/01/2022 12:36

I scored 109. I have a diagnosis of "severe" (categorised as such in my NHS diagnostic report) combined-presentation ADHD and I take stimulant medication. I'm also autistic.

I scored 71. I am not diagnosed but suspect I may be on the spectrum and have considered adhd

Hoowhoowho · 16/01/2022 13:01

82, interesting I thought I’d underscored myself and would have a low score and low likelihood.

greypot · 16/01/2022 13:04

I got 80. I have thought for ages I have ADHD, but not been assessed as I don't think it would help as I can't take the medication.

Me too!

I got 98 the first time I did it. Then I went through again and gave myself the lowest possible score that I could justify for each of the questions. I still got 71.
NoSquirrels · 16/01/2022 13:11

But honestly it seems like a very shit test to me.

Nonivknamesforcatapillars · 16/01/2022 13:12

70 suspected for a long time that I probably have adhd but never sought a diagnosis.

Sometimes I wonder if I should.

lborgia · 16/01/2022 13:15

@Jacaranda75 -

Just a quick point. Even if you were assessed as being autistic, that doesn't mean there's something wrong with you, or that your are an abject failure of a human.

If anything, there a far higher likelihood that your difficulties arise from constantly trying to function in a world that is difficult for some people.

It's like constantly trying to jam yourself into a round hole, saying "but if course I'm round! How can this possibly be difficult", when actually you're a square peg.

There is nothing intrinsically wrong with being a square peg.

Btw, there are millions of kinds of help that don't involve medicine.

Look at Additude.org for example.
Hilariously, the website is shockingly busy and difficult to read, but it has some great stuff on adhd.

But the Web is loaded with supportive articles, videos, ideas.

Moiraroseswigs · 16/01/2022 13:25

I scored 36. I've never felt that I have ADHD traits so I expected lower but I'm quite sensitive and get upset easily so some of the questions were relevant to me.
