Would you do this ADHD diagnostic quiz and share your answer?

counsellingresource.com/quizzes/adhd-testing/adhd/

I've done this quiz which is meant to provide an estimate of whether you might have ADHD. It shouldn't be used for diagnosis, there are lot of caveats for it.

But I am thinking "but surely everyone does that" about a lot of the questions. I'd be really interested to get a range of answers from a range of people, if anyone is willing to share.

For what it's worth, I've done it twice on different days, scored 76 and 62. Their threshold for "possible ADHD" is 70+. I don't really believe anyone can score less than 50 and I'd be fascinated to know if I'm wrong.

53, which was much lower than I expected. When we went through assessment with my daughter I recognised so much of myself in her that I really thought I'd come out higher.

For this scoring high who say they aren't hyperactive, when we were told she likely had ADHD the assessor said the hyperactivity can often present verbally in girls rather than physically. I assume you can also not be hyperactive and just struggle with attention though?

I scored 25.

SoleBlueWhisper · 02/10/2021 03:06

113, im on waiting list for ASD diagnosis

redtshirt50 · 02/10/2021 03:17

I got 29

FrenchFancie · 02/10/2021 05:15

I got 21, but I don’t think I have adhd or similar at all, I don’t have issues with concentration or sitting still.
I don’t recognise a lot of the statements - like about mind chatter or have all the tv channels on at once, I don’t know what that would be like?

BabarEnFamille · 02/10/2021 07:40

I scored 19, wouldn’t be surprised if I had ASD but sitting still, speaking too freely and concentrating have never an issue - the opposite, probably to my detriment.

Fishinkles · 02/10/2021 10:33

108 - I have a diagnosis though

8lue8ird · 02/10/2021 10:51

90😳

I've often suspected I have ADHD but I don't think anybody else would guess the internal chatter and chaos in my mind so I usually keep it to myself.

  1. Im diagnosed with ADHD.
BeggarsMeddle · 02/10/2021 11:12

@Rooksink

71 but feel I'm too old & my GP too uninterested to look into a diagnosis. I've been on anti-depressants for 21 years because GP says "you're an intelligent woman; you know what you need". I am but I don't.
I was on ADs on and off over the years. I think that was due to the anxiety and feelings of being a failure and not coping, always feeling inadequate... because I couldn't understand why I cocked things up or had massive moments of forgetting critical stuff/appointments, etc, etc, why things got complicated and I often couldn't manage the simple every day stuff others took in their stride. Diagnosis explains a lot - it is not a cure in itself obviously - but I haven't wasted so much time wondering how/why I did that.
StorminaBcup · 02/10/2021 11:34

If you’d consistently scored 92 for this (& high in other similar tests) would you pursue an official assessment? Even if the symptoms didn’t cause any distress and you were able to cope?

Deathraystare · 02/10/2021 12:48

I got 18!

Tomnooktoldmeto · 02/10/2021 13:50

I just asked DD DH and DS if they wanted to have a go as they were interested in the results

DH 96
DD 92
DS 64

all with severe mixed ADHD and various other co-morbidities, my score was 11

HorsesHoundsandHills · 02/10/2021 14:41

12 for me.

HPmagic · 02/10/2021 15:11

I got 10

I have a diagnosis of ASD. I'm not surprised I got a high score on this test. My previous manager suggested I get assessed and I thought I was managing quite well at work. But that's the problem. Other people can see it even when I not experiencing it as a problem or think I have it under control.

I would think it was highly unlikely that someone could score highly and it have no impact on their Iife at all.

After all its a disorder characterised by difference.

But in answer to your question, I probably wouldn't seek a diagnosis. I think I'd find it hard to come to terms with having ASD and ADHD.

I already ask for the things I need at work so 'reasonable adjustments' are made without peope realising that's what they're doing and the other stuff, well I just deal with it and hope I don't come too unstuck.

bollocksybollocks · 02/10/2021 15:28

17 it would have been even lower when I was younger but I find it harder to focus and concentrate on conversations as I get older

fancyfrogs · 02/10/2021 15:37

26

SommerTen · 02/10/2021 15:44

I scored 90.
I'm not actually diagnosed with ADHD but I do have Schizoaffective disorder bipolar type which means I get all the highs & lows etc of bipolar plus the negative symptoms of Schizoaffective which probably skews the test results eg I find it hard to concentrate & sit still a lot.

Hm2020 · 02/10/2021 15:46

I got a 17.

rslsys · 02/10/2021 15:56
