Would you do this ADHD diagnostic quiz and share your answer?

counsellingresource.com/quizzes/adhd-testing/adhd/

I've done this quiz which is meant to provide an estimate of whether you might have ADHD. It shouldn't be used for diagnosis, there are lot of caveats for it.

But I am thinking "but surely everyone does that" about a lot of the questions. I'd be really interested to get a range of answers from a range of people, if anyone is willing to share.

For what it's worth, I've done it twice on different days, scored 76 and 62. Their threshold for "possible ADHD" is 70+. I don't really believe anyone can score less than 50 and I'd be fascinated to know if I'm wrong.

88 i have diagnosed adhd.

parrotonmyshoulder · 29/09/2021 21:28

So, although I don’t have the attention span at this time of night to read the whole thread, scanning it seems to suggest that high scores are being gained by people who have been diagnosed with, or suspect they have, adhd. Low scores by people who definitely don’t have adhd.
So test looks fairly accurate. Not diagnostic, obviously.
26.

Never considered I might have it and don't think I do, but saw a thread here recently by a poster struggling with a new job and feeling overwhelmed, and someone suggested getting tested for ADHD and pointed out that it's often missed in girls/women as it manifests differently. They posted a link to a self-quiz designed for women, which is here if anyone's interested: www.additudemag.com/quiz/adhd-in-women-symptom-test/.
Thanks @Callixte . I got 69/72 on that one.

I still get a wee dopamine rush seeing a high score, though: even though, in this case, it's a bad thing.

Stupid brain.

I've just done this and got 94 Confused I've never considered myself to have ADHD tbh but I have wondered about possible autism.

Definitely something weird about me but doesn't everyone feel that way to some extent?

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 30/09/2021 15:07

I scored 25. I don't think I have ADHD but do think increasingly that this might be what's going on with one of my children, who so far only hasa Dyslexia diagnosis. I have an appointment to get a referral for screening for him next week (abroad, things work differently).

What did strike me significantly is that two years ago I would have answered the questions differently and come out with a much, much higher score - I was incredibly overwhelmed and stressed but obviously I didn't have ADHD as that's not something that comes and goes!

I think having far too much on your plate and being right at your limits juggling almost more than you can especially while long term sleep deprived would definitely give someone without ADHD a very high score on this test too!

DyingDeclaration · 30/09/2021 15:08

95! Parent of a child with ADHD so not that surprised, his diagnosis made a lot of things I've always struggled with make sense.

Like concentrating. I'm multitasking the quiz and this post with a big global Teams call to help me stay sat at my desk!

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 30/09/2021 15:08

48 here. Occasion wonder if I do

alostsock · 30/09/2021 15:27

85, which kind of confirms what I have been thinking for a while usually when I should be doing something else then feeling bad for it

AdoraBell · 30/09/2021 15:42

Completely non scientific but I’ve done the quiz again based on my DH behaviour and things he said over the last 25 years. Score was 104. His brother was diagnosed with ADD, aged 43, and his son diagnosed with dyspraxia. According to BIL his psychiatrist thinks late MIL had ADD. There’s no point asking DH to complete the quiz, he isn’t willing to be assessed and takes any suggestions about it as an personal attack.

Officially diagnosed with ASD but have long suspected comorbid ADHD. Can't be arsed trying to convince the NHS but I think I would have really benefited from medication.

@AdoraBell that's probably because many people with adhd have rejection sensitive dysphoria. It sucks!

I read an article (not fact checked) that people with adhd face 10k more critical comments over their lifetime than those without adhd. Lazy, try harder, pay more attention, such a day dreamer, speed up, think before you speak, don't interrupt etc etc.
So it's actually logical in some ways that we are more sensitive to criticism.

I kind of get where you're coming from. I asked my DP to do the test as well to see. He scored 17 and another friend who doesn't have adhd had a similar score. Mine was very high (diagnosed)

I suppose my point is, if that's the way you've been thinking your whole life, then it would make sense you'd feel others think the same way as you do. Even more so if you're not struggling significantly

An example I've seen used a few times to put it into perspective, is well yes, everyone pees, but if you're going 30 + times a day, then there's a problem. So even though a lot of people may have adhd symptoms from time to time, the majority won't have these struggles all day every day

MerryMarigold · 30/09/2021 17:36

I scored 66. I have wondered if I have adhd but my activity levels say otherwise!

randomuseragain · 30/09/2021 17:40

I got 99.... had never considered this

iklboo · 30/09/2021 17:49

It's asking for credit card details when I try it. I don't really want to do that.

What? Is it?

It didn’t when I did it...

iklboo · 30/09/2021 17:52

Ah ignore me. I was looking at the wrong bit. I scored 29.

 1. I have ASD which was diagnosed at 24 and many people in my life have suspected ADHD since I was a child but I can't be bothered to go through the assessment process again.
RampantIvy · 30/09/2021 18:35

DH scored 73, which doesn't surprise me. It explains why he is the way he is, and he is happy with that.

I got 46. I score highly on half and not at all on the other half!
