Would you do this ADHD diagnostic quiz and share your answer?

counsellingresource.com/quizzes/adhd-testing/adhd/

I've done this quiz which is meant to provide an estimate of whether you might have ADHD. It shouldn't be used for diagnosis, there are lot of caveats for it.

But I am thinking "but surely everyone does that" about a lot of the questions. I'd be really interested to get a range of answers from a range of people, if anyone is willing to share.

For what it's worth, I've done it twice on different days, scored 76 and 62. Their threshold for "possible ADHD" is 70+. I don't really believe anyone can score less than 50 and I'd be fascinated to know if I'm wrong.

I got 20. Not many of the questions really resonated

Pinkclarko · 28/09/2021 22:30

80 but awaiting diagnosis

ReginaPhalangee · 28/09/2021 22:44

I scored 15

MotherofPoodles · 28/09/2021 22:54

79 and I've suspected adhd Defoe a long while.

BillywigSting · 28/09/2021 22:59

I scored 84 and am currently being assessed for adhd. I have my meeting with the consultant the day after tomorrow

I didn’t really relate to any of the feelings suggested by the questions. I found it an interesting insight into a friend who does have ADHD

longcoffeebreak · 28/09/2021 23:09

84 I have ADHD

No ADHD.

I am a consummate daydreamer - sometimes embarrassingly so - but otherwise few of the questions were relatable.

Callixte · 29/09/2021 01:50

Never considered I might have it and don't think I do, but saw a thread here recently by a poster struggling with a new job and feeling overwhelmed, and someone suggested getting tested for ADHD and pointed out that it's often missed in girls/women as it manifests differently. They posted a link to a self-quiz designed for women, which is here if anyone's interested: www.additudemag.com/quiz/adhd-in-women-symptom-test/.

I got 9

RampantIvy · 29/09/2021 07:00

I scored 5 in your link @Callixte. Life must be exhausting for the high scorers.

Morph2lcfc · 29/09/2021 07:08

I scored 26

Elmo230885 · 29/09/2021 07:18

I scored 38.

I think it's a pretty meaningless quiz. If you have ADHD on your radar your answers will likely be skewed. Also if you have experience of ADHD in others you may skew the answers the other way.

maxiflump1 · 29/09/2021 07:20

I scored 5 as well Smile Am pretty chilled out and laid back generally.

CanICelebrate · 29/09/2021 07:46

@RampantIvy I see your point but I’ve only ever known my own brain so it just is the way is it so it doesn’t feel exhausting day by day.

I scored 90 but in real life I present as quite organised, have been to university 3 times and think I’m good at my job and being a mum. What I’ve had to do, which can cause a lot of anxiety, is too constantly develop strategies for my adhd (add) brain to cope with things and keep on top of things. I label things, write a lot of lists and outsource what I can.
My self esteem is much lower than people would think and I constantly feel not good enough and know I’ve underachieved and not reached my potential despite having achieved well.

I had a very ordered life and a very scrambled brain. It sounds hard work but it’s all I’ve ever known.

CanICelebrate · 29/09/2021 07:49

@maxiflump1

My personality is pretty chilled out and I scored 90.

My adhd (inattentive type) is about the way I’m wired not necessarily what my personality is like.
I have 2 children with adhd - one is hyperactive and the other is so laid back he’s horizontal and his adhd is the inattentive type like mine.

Never thought about adhd for me. Two children going through diagnosis

mavolo · 29/09/2021 09:21

100, suspect i have adhd

MyAnacondaMight · 29/09/2021 09:42

I scored 7. I imagine she has a big impact here. 10 years ago, in my early 20s, I would have scored quite a lot higher (but still under 50, I imagine).

theturtleshead · 29/09/2021 09:46

I wonder how much this test is geared towards male ADHD and may not be as accurate for women, who present differently.
I score differently on different tests.

BeyondMyWits · 29/09/2021 21:03

I scored 9 and would say I am certain I do not have adhd.
