counsellingresource.com/quizzes/adhd-testing/adhd/

I've done this quiz which is meant to provide an estimate of whether you might have ADHD. It shouldn't be used for diagnosis, there are lot of caveats for it.

But I am thinking "but surely everyone does that" about a lot of the questions. I'd be really interested to get a range of answers from a range of people, if anyone is willing to share.

For what it's worth, I've done it twice on different days, scored 76 and 62. Their threshold for "possible ADHD" is 70+. I don't really believe anyone can score less than 50 and I'd be fascinated to know if I'm wrong.

18 for me. No ADHD, analytical approach to everything

Crispynoodle · 27/09/2021 23:40

18

DoucheCanoe · 27/09/2021 23:41

No thoughts of potential ADHD but since going through the diagnostic process with my DS I have seriously considered that I may be Autistic. I do have diagnosed anxiety.

IdblowJonSnow · 27/09/2021 23:44

61
I don't suspectin I have adhd but as I've got older I find it really difficult to focus. Always been a day dreamer.

CleopatrasBeautifulNose · 27/09/2021 23:44

Scored 21. I would have thought I was a pretty average human. I'm not a powerhouse nor useless in any area. But if a jack of all trades in terms of life skills really.

BogRollBOGOF · 27/09/2021 23:44
  1. DS is very neurodiverse as is a lot of my family. I do wonder about inattentive type ADD although I am unobtrusively twitchy. I literally can't stand still, I sway!

My organisation skills have frequently hindered me at transition points at moving to the next stage in courses. I catch up and do well in the end, but the start can be messy as I adjust.

I am begining to wonder about DS2... he's very much like me... that isn't very informative Grin

MissCruellaDeVil · 27/09/2021 23:48

I scored 102. I'm not sure about ADD as never been diagnosed or tested, but it does mention anxiety in the fine print, which I have been treated for in the past with medication.

LizardLunch · 27/09/2021 23:49

I scored 90-something. Have forgotten already...! I have diagnosed combined type ADHD.

jobsagudden · 27/09/2021 23:50

I scored 74, recently been referred.

BonnyandPoppy · 27/09/2021 23:51

I got 10

fourquenelles · 27/09/2021 23:52

@RavenclawsRoar

I scored 9.
Me too.
hullaballoo19 · 27/09/2021 23:56

47 for me, but I think most of those points will have come from the questions about how busy my mind is and I'm a massive overthinker

Seriallover · 28/09/2021 00:00

This doesn't shock me. I have always wondered if there was something about me.

AdoraBell · 28/09/2021 00:00

I scored 5.

ducksalive · 28/09/2021 00:01

I got 29, I have dyslexia but nothing else.
Ds has ADHD and would score highly on this test.

Smokeyrobinson · 28/09/2021 00:04

I scored 33

Catra · 28/09/2021 00:04

I scored 80.

I can be very focused when the mood takes me (often to the detriment of everything else around me) which is a trait of my autism, so it hadn't crossed my mind before that I might have ADHD.

I have little understanding of the condition and understood it to be predominantly characterised by a short attention span.

TommyShelby · 28/09/2021 00:06

I scored 90 and I have an ADHD diagnosis

StorminaBcup · 28/09/2021 00:07

92 not diagnosed and no thoughts that I’d need one. I am however very stressed! Would be interesting to see the scores in a months time. The questionnaire doesn’t seem very robust.

CatherineCawood · 28/09/2021 00:14

91 have ADHD diagnosis, almost couldn't finish quiz as the meds have worn off.

Shamoo · 28/09/2021 00:29

13 for me. A few of those traits I have a little bit but most of them not at all.

SylvanasWindrunner · 28/09/2021 00:34
  1. I've wondered about myself in the past and considered seeking some further help or diagnosis, but I've kind of adjusted my life around how I operate now v trying to adjust myself to fit in with life, so things are better. I know what I struggle with and have stuff in place to make it better. ADHD or not, realising what my limitations are and that I need to cater to them has made a big difference.
FuckYouCorona · 28/09/2021 00:42

73, I do have ADHD.

RavingAnnie · 28/09/2021 00:43

I got 79. I have a diagnosis of inattentive ADHD.

YouokHun · 28/09/2021 00:45

I scored below the threshold for ADHD on that quiz but I have a diagnosis. I use psychological measures in my work and they can be very clumsy and poorly designed (I know that wasn’t a diagnostic measure and more of a quiz). A decent ADHD assessment by a psychiatrist is 1.5 hrs or more long and many questions are asked and there is a very thorough assessment of the many co-morbidities. The thing about ADHD is that if you take one typical behaviour in, say, Inattentive ADHD you could easily say, ‘but everyone does that’ but it’s the pieces knitted together after proper assessment that explains why ADHD isn’t just one trait but a series of traits and behaviours and co-morbid issues.

I got my diagnosis at 52 in the classic way, which is having a DC diagnosed and realising they’re a chip off the old block. I spent many years being told I was lazy, a self sabotaging loser, stupid. I could never work out why I couldn’t achieve, why I found friendships tricky as a teen, why I was out in the cold socially, why I stared out of the window during O Levels when I so wanted to pass them, why rejection or criticism stung so badly. Having a diagnosis and medication changed my life because now I understand my problem with dopamine; it’s chemical not about bad character! But it also means I am kinder to myself; I’ve just got to undo the 52 years I spent feeling awful about myself. If I’d relied on one of those online tests I’d still be trying to work out what was going on with me. The day I started medication was amazing - I quietly got on with my day - it doesn’t sound like much does it? But for me it was a total revelation.
