I love reading threads like these and couldn't see one for today?

Children have been on a forest school thing this morning with DH

We had food shopping delivery so just put all that away

Just wandered down to the village to get a joint for tea, got beef brisket so just put that in the slow cooker now and planning a roast. So roast beef, potatoes, Yorkshire's, cauliflower cheese, brocolli and carrots. And horseradish sauce of course.

Going to rush round a bit now doing uniforms etc thankfully we have a tumble dryer and just generally tidying up then hopefully a garden afternoon for us all we have a greenhouse so easy to get out in the rain. I've bought some autumn bedding so want to get that potted up. Also hoping to get a propagator set up indoors but my son quite fancies doing that.

Children are also asking to make blackberry jam we have a glut of blackberries in the freezer but I think that might have to be another days job.

Hopefully bath when children are asleep and glass of red while catching up on some tv

All in all a lovely Sunday!

So far I have finished the latest Richard Osman book, gone a nine mile bike ride listening to a new-to-me Liane Moriarty, and I am heading into the city for lunch with my daughter in a bit.

CormoranStrike · 19/09/2021 12:16

Oh yeah, glass of wine and a chill out later too.

iklboo · 19/09/2021 12:17

Leisurely morning - NY style bagels for breakfast.

DS(15) has put the washing on & emptied the bins. He & DH are off out later to play nerd games Magic The Gathering at a gaming shop for a couple of hours. I'll relax & read my new book.

Cheese & onion pie, roasted baby news & veg for tea.

Shopping ordered and on the way.

Chilled night watching What If, Vigil, Ghosts etc.

I love reading these too. Yours sounds so wholesome OP - I would love to do it all (except eat the horseradish).

My DH & DC1 have just got back from a soggy nights camping so I think we will be sorting that out first and in between wrangling a sleep adverse 3mo DC2, I will be getting some ironing done.

I've got a craving for cake too so will see about making something for this afternoon and maybe just some crumpets for tea.

ShipshapeShore · 19/09/2021 12:21

This all sounds lovely. I'm going to live vicariously because I'm stuck inside with covid (that actually just feels like a cold) and feeling sorry for myself! I have a stack of books so my plan is to rest and read.

Pascha · 19/09/2021 12:27

Ive been re-hemming ds1s school shorts as one side fell down on Friday. Dh has been staining the shed. Ds1 started his history homework after some reminding and Ds2 has been playing roblox all smug as he finished his homework on Friday.

This afternoon dh is taking the children to meet some friends at a local dessert place while I have some peace and quiet to work.

LBOCS2 · 19/09/2021 12:30

We entertained for DH's birthday yesterday so it was a late night all around and a bit of a slow start this morning! We've had bacon sandwiches and coffee, and a tidy up, and now I'm relaxing with my book and the rest of the family are playing a game on the Switch together.

In about an hour I'll take DH and DSS to the station to take DSS back to his mum's, and I'll take our DDs to the park, then do bathtime, uniform sorting, dinner, wind down before bed. We might watch a film together, or do some crafting - I'm trying to teach them how to cross stitch which actually means I'm working on three projects of varying difficulty instead of just one!

I've got a fixed appointment for a call with my friends from uni tonight which started during lockdown and we've managed to carry on since, so I'm looking forward to that too.

DressBitch · 19/09/2021 12:39

I'm feeling really poorly (pregnant) and really tired so my son and I are spending the day on the sofa watching Disney films.

He's just got me his special pink blanket from his bed so I'm having a cuddle with the dog under that.

Feeling guilty that it's not more exciting for him, if I'm honest.

iklboo · 19/09/2021 12:45

@DressBitch - don't feel guilty. I bet you son will love cuddles & films. He's so sweet getting you his special blanket.

SpringRainbow · 19/09/2021 12:48

We went out yesterday so today is mainly house work and sorting everything out for the next week.

So far I have sorted the kitchen out, put dry laundry away and the dirty laundry is currently in the machine.

We have had a shopping delivery this morning so that has been put away and I have also roughly planned meals for the week and prepped dinner for today.

Later the whole house will need a clean and tidy from top to bottom ready for the week ahead. I’ll also be helping the kids with their homework later as well.

Can’t wait for everyone to go to bed later so I can just chill out.

Camomila · 19/09/2021 12:48

DH and DS1 did junior park run this morning, now he's at home tidying up in peace and quiet (and watching the football later)

I've taken the DC to my parents for Sunday lunch and for a wander round the garden centre with DM. DS1 might moan about the garden centre so I might leave him with my dad (and the ipad).

Crunchymum · 19/09/2021 12:49

We tossed a coin. DP has taken kids to the park / picnic / walk and I'm doing the chores... so far I've hoovered (not not bedrooms) cleared two washing lines, put a wash on and toilet / bathroom blitzed. Washing-up has been done, dinner prepped and I'm having a cuppa.

Still need to iron, cook dinner (I've marinated the meat and made the salad so just need to stir fry it later and do the rice) and bath the kids. Will also do tomorrow's packed lunches and snacks so one less thing to do in the morning. And I think DC1 still has a bit of homework to finish.

Film later and I'll finish the red from yesterday Wine

Low key and relatively lazy, just the way I like Sunday's.

MinnieMountain · 19/09/2021 13:00

DH is away surfing.

DS played Minecraft whilst I had coffee in bed. We played his new Amazing Aircraft Top Trumps.

He’s done his homework.

We’re just back from a trip to town to buy plimsolls and overpriced macarons from the European market.

Lunch soon, then a game of conkers as he’s working towards a badge in the school Eco club.

Finally burgers in front of a film, and my friend’s coming over for a drink once DS is in bed.

LtGreggs · 19/09/2021 13:05

I had a lie in and then a slow breakfast. Just been in to town for new school trousers and some baking ingredients, bumped in to a friend so had an impromptu coffee together.

Back home now. Both kids have homework to do, so I'll aim to strike the right balance between supporting/policing that for a couple of hours. Bit of house sorting required as builders in next week for various jobs around the house - need to sort some space & some dustsheets. Plus my usual list of weekend housework bits & pieces. I don't mind too much, all quite pottery stuff. DH needs to do a tip trip too.

I need to fit in a short run at some point.

Pasta & a glass of wine for tea.

NoWigNoWit · 19/09/2021 13:11

I’m having a birthday today 😀

We’ve hired a sex pond for the weekend so am planning on laying in there with gin!

confusedofengland · 19/09/2021 13:12

I woke up at 6am & made tea to take back to bed & read for an hour, which was nice (The Vanishing Half, recommend it).

DH & DS1 had football in the village this morning, so I wandered down with the other Dses. Unfortunately, DS2 who is 10 & just been diagnosed with ADHD & being investigated for autism, had a meltdown on the way there (he has just started having them, not been a thing until last month, now daily) so we didn't get to watch the match, but apparently it was very good.

We have just finished lunch, then will go for a walk & pop in to my parents, then home to watch football on TV, homework & probably screens.

DinkBoo · 19/09/2021 13:17

I'm supposed to be working on prep for the coming academic term, but woke up after very little sleep (random noises outside all night, barking dogs, rowing couple, singing people) with a headache that has only just cleared.

DH is away, so I'm stuck in waiting for an emergency Prime cat food order DH made from abroad, no idea when it will arrive, with no milk for brews and no food Blush watching the rain, and accomplishing very little. Though I did manage to clear up the front yard and feed the pots before the rain arrived. And a small amount of housework has been accomplished.

Depending when the cat food arrives (and how wet it is outside), I may head to the supermarket for actual food and milk later, or just up the road to the corner shop for emergency supplies.

Hopefully will manage some work soon as I really need to get stuff done whilst DH is away and the house is quiet.

So, a glamorous day for me! Grin

TreaslakeandBack · 19/09/2021 13:20

Just spent 2 hours doing a project on Rameses II with DS. Now finished I’m off for a bath and DS has gone to play out.
DH is going to a rugby match and then we’re having chicken and chorizo tray bake tonight and binge watching Dr Who.

SAd and the CFS/ME are ….. Managed to light the fire, reheat food make the bed and fall into it. Not usually this bad so early in the season and feel appalling.
Chickenbreast, carrots. noodles. All precooked and heated and gravy.

Refuse to close down before three but may have to . But the place is warm

InnPain · 19/09/2021 13:37

Just a slow afternoon here today, done the laundry last night so that’s one less job for today.

Need to get a nice shower in at some point but probs leave that for evening.

Hoping to cook chicken curry as soon the the chicken defrosts.

That’s it really

itsgettingwierd · 19/09/2021 13:38

Did my ironing when I woke up and emptied the tumble dryer.

Had a cheese panini and coffee mid morning and went to supermarket.

Beef roast being made for this evening and I'll have a bath and hair wash.

Other than that just chilling but there is some bits and bobs housework wise to do

PurBal · 19/09/2021 13:42

Today we have:

  • load of laundry washed and on line
  • emptied, cleaned and sorted out the wood store
  • swept the patio
  • pruned the hedge
  • repotted a house plant
  • sorted 6 bag for life’s worth of hand me downs

Currently feeding DS which is why I’m on MN but left to do:

  • prep chicken for lunches (we batch cook chicken breast rather than buy sliced chicken or ham)
  • batch cook chilli
  • remove kitchen cabinet so room for dishwasher
  • bathe child
  • pick and prep runner beans for freezer
