It's lovely to see you return, Prok, and I am jealous of your 14 days off.
I have been on a run this morning too, although to be honest I am still alternating between running and walk. I walk up the hills (one of which is a beast) and run the rest of the route.
DH and DS picked up the new snowblower yesterday and delivered a huge load of grocery shopping to my MIL, then stayed and visited with her for a time. She's stuck in her apartment until the lift is repaired. DS went out for pizza with one of his high school friends who is still in the area. I went to the farmers' market and bought a bag of local apples and made apple pie. DS and I made macaroni and cheese, which we had with burgers. I baked the pie while the men grilled the burgers.
The pie came out nicely and was delicious. The fresh apples made it very juicy and I used lots of cinnamon and turbinado sugar to coat the apples. I decided to leave the kettle in the first picture with the pie and the mac and cheese to refute the view, commonly heard on MN, that Americans do not own kettles.
As you can see from the last picture, the leaves are starting to change color here. In a week or two they'll be really striking. I got a bit of a late start this morning so I will probably skip going to church this morning. It's too late for the 8:30 service and I don't fancy the 10:30 service as much.
