This is too much for me. The model in the animal print, posing by the mirror, showing off his Lidl trainers.

I have dealt with Trump’s presidency, I have accepted Brexit. I have lived through COVID restrictions. But this is just too much for me.

Are we sure it's not April 1st 🤣

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 16/09/2021 07:28

I'm disappointed. Why no Lidl bikini to match the swim shorts?

PoorCatto · 16/09/2021 07:30

I proper wants me some Lidl merch. I might buy a whole outfit!

Mu 8yo would love the trainers... for the bright colours, not the Lidl bit.

NapoleonOzmolysis · 16/09/2021 07:33

I could just about get on board with the bag but the shoes and socks just no. Nope.

ArblemarchTFruitbat · 16/09/2021 07:34

Ha ha! I saw those in the weekly booklet. It reminds me of when Tesco Value did a Tesco Value branded Valentine's day card.

(I miss Tesco Value - 'Stockwell' and 'BollocksyMadeUp Farm' just don't have the same cachet).

SophiesMummySaid · 16/09/2021 07:35

I’d quite like the trainers if they didn’t have the Lidl logo 😳

Monestera · 16/09/2021 07:36

I wonder what was going through his mind as someone said just sit up there and give us a bit of ankle.

I can’t see the man in leopard print? All the people are outdoors in the photos I see.

I quite like the swimming trunks! Don’t think my husband would go for it. And the trainer colours are good too - a bit like lego.

Thank you!

There is an article in the daily mail about these trainers being a sell out all over Europe and are in really high demand apparently

All the merch flew off the shelves here in Spain. I have friends in Italy who said that young people are wearing the range in an ironic anti-fashion way. I can’t comment on that but my 70 year old neighbour loves her trainers. Grin. They had flip flops here too.
PyjamaMamma · 16/09/2021 07:51

Oooh one of DD’s friends has those trainers - I spotted it in the hallway the other day and was Shock. Looks like something I might have worn as a child in the 80s.

MuchTooTired · 16/09/2021 07:58

I think my DH would love the trainers Blush

He’s an odd one though, he asked for Tesco value wellies complete with the blue and white stripes!

TheNatureOfTheCatastrophe · 16/09/2021 07:59

Yes I can see that students might take to them as an ironic statement which is also cheap and practical.

Hoolihan · 16/09/2021 07:59

My husband went out at 7 30am to get these trainers, hasn't returned yet... I don't really get it.

GlowWine · 16/09/2021 08:35

This is so funny, I might be tempted by the trainers, my ironic teen would love them, but must stay home self-isolating today and she's in school all day Wink

NorthumberlandVera · 16/09/2021 08:46

Aldi did this earlier in the year, branded sweatshirts, sliders etc. They were popular I think.

LookItsMeAgain · 16/09/2021 08:53

I have another question - why would someone take their shoes off (after a long day standing or whatever) and leave them on the hall table beside their landline phone???
Are they that "alive" that they want to call their mates???

SolitaryTree · 16/09/2021 08:57

I weirdly like them….. Blush

BakeOffRewatch · 16/09/2021 09:06

I like the trainers and all this thread has done is add me to the demand! Very 90s trainers

doublemonkey · 16/09/2021 09:07

I like em. Although I'm way too old to try to get away with wearing clothes ironically.

I can't see that pic either!

I do like the trainers, but prefer to wear rather more discreet footwear at my age Grin

TheYearOfSmallThings · 16/09/2021 09:24

My DS(6) would love those trainers.

Genuinely thought they'd left their butt plug there too.
