Mine was a (very much under age) visit to the King James Wetherspoons in Cheshunt. I ordered a massive hug of woo woo. It was grim. Grin

Think it was probably either castaway or two dogs, then progressing on to Pernod and black ....wouldnt touch any of those now!! 🤮

ICanTuckMyBoobsInMyPockets · 11/09/2021 10:13

Pineapple Bacardi Breezer 🤮

ICanTuckMyBoobsInMyPockets · 11/09/2021 10:14

@SeriouslyISuppose

Pint of the local stout, I think. They would have served a toddler in a plastic moustache as long as they could hold their drink.

Martini and lemonade. Because that’s what my mum drank.

linerforlife · 11/09/2021 10:23

A reef! Which was like a vodka fruit juice alcopop thing

2catsandhappy · 11/09/2021 10:27

16 and a works lunch 'do'. I was asked what I wanted and I blushingly said oh I'm only 16. I was urged to have something. Frantically I was trying to remember the name of any drink. The only ones I could remember was a snowball(made by df at xmas) or my mums drink, Martini and lemonade. Cue many smiles when I mumbled that.

KhoshkaKatya · 11/09/2021 10:28

Long vodka

CantStandMeow · 11/09/2021 10:30

Probably a reef or a Breezer, back in 2000 when you didn't need ID if you smiled at the bouncer

Anoisagusaris · 11/09/2021 10:31

Ritz

Unfashionable · 11/09/2021 10:36

I don’t remember the first drink I ordered, but I do remember the first one I sold on my first shift behind the bar. It was a pint of Marston’s Pedigree in September 1987, and it cost 85p

CallMeRisley · 11/09/2021 10:39

Archers and lemonade or Passoa and lemonade- so sweet!

notanotherjacketpotato · 11/09/2021 10:40

Martini and lemonade - I was 15 and at a party one of the kids in the year above was having in a bar. It was v normal back then, can't imagine it being allowed now

notanotherjacketpotato · 11/09/2021 10:40

@Toastytoads

Anyone remember Reef?
Yes!

My Dad bought a pack of Reefs for my sister and I when we were about 12 and 14 thinking they were juice like J20s Grin

@LaurieFairyCake

Snakebite and black

Totally ages me Grin

This was most likely mine too, only we call it a Purple Nasty here Grin

Grin Did you tell him or did he realise his mistake? Or did you keep quiet and neck them?!

Pearbear · 11/09/2021 10:47

A snowball and my friends from the local church youth group were all really shocked that I’d ordered something stronger than a lemonade or coke

PollyDarton1 · 11/09/2021 10:47

Convinced my dad to get me a Reef in a pub lunch when I was 14. Told him it was a cheap j2o Grin

First drink I ordered myself was a cider though, as I was told it tasted like apple juice. Fucking hated it:

Chocolatier9 · 11/09/2021 10:48

Malibu and Coke. Ordered for me by Josh, the bad boy I’d sneaked out of the dorm at my very strict convent school to meet. I had no clue, and thought it was disgusting but forced it down as I was being sophisticated.😂

Ah those were the days.

Josh is now obese according to pictures on social media and rumoured to be in rehab for sex addiction.😕

Sakura7 · 11/09/2021 10:50

Orange Bacardi Breezer, some time around 2000.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 11/09/2021 10:53

Long vodka, probably - I thought it was so sophisticated because it had angostura bitters in it!

Diamond White was definitely for drinking in the woodies - brings back horrible memories of a friend’s awful boyfriend who passed out and we were so scared we rang an ambulance, and when he heard it coming he made a miraculous recovery and leaped up and ran away. The ambulance left and the police turned up and spoke to us very severely. We must have been about 15 and looked 12.

Sakura7 · 11/09/2021 10:53

Other big guns from around that time were Smirnoff Ice and Blue Wicked.

Facilitatingdarkness · 11/09/2021 10:54

For the person that asked what a woo woo is... It's a cocktail but I actually have absolutely no fucking idea what was in it!

I've just Googled: 1 part (1/2 oz) Peach Schnapps, 2 parts (1 oz) Vodka, 4 parts (2 oz) Cranberry juice

So basically hideously sweet but good for curing urine infections Grin

This is brilliant @PollyDarton1 - did he find out in the end?

A group of my friends met in Camden. We walked around the markets, then ended up in a pub. Back then I had very little money. I asked the person behind the bar which was their cheapest drink. I ended up buying a small can of Bitter Lemon for 50p.
