I've just watched Boiling Point and he's just amazing. Every role he plays he's so convincing and mesmerising to watch. In all the interviews I've watched with him he always comes across as such a nice bloke. I'll be very upset if someone comes on to say he's actually a twat in real life!

Bloody love Stephen Graham. Hadn't heard of Boiling Point, will look it up.

WinoAnon · 08/09/2021 22:29

Hadn't heard of this! Will look it up.

His work rate is unreal. There are spells where it feels like he's in everything but I think it's also because he picks roles in the kind of stuff I like to watch!

brittleheadgirl · 08/09/2021 22:30

Definitely not a twat in real life. Apparently he's incredibly down to earth, lives a quiet life etc
He's an amazing actor and I too haven't heard of boiling point - what's it about and where can I find it?!

Realyorkshiretea · 08/09/2021 22:30

Love love love Stephen! He was incredible in This is England, Combo gave me goosebumps.

TheQueef · 08/09/2021 22:32

Watching him as Combo still sends shivers down my back.
Time was good too.

FirstTimeMommy2021 · 08/09/2021 22:33

Love Stephen Graham fantastic actor! Somebody told me he's dyslexic and his wife has to help him read and learn his lines ❤️❤️ that's love

Inspirationpending · 08/09/2021 22:33

Yes! find him so charismatic
Looking forward to his new drama with Jodie Comer, Help I think it’s called?

Warmduscher · 08/09/2021 22:34

The woman who played his wife in Time is his off-screen wife. You’re welcome Smile

Namechangenumber23 · 08/09/2021 22:34

Love him! Might have to give Boardwalk Empire a rewatch

She was also Trudy in This is England 86/88/90
WinoAnon · 08/09/2021 22:37

I loved Time. Such a subtle but brilliant performance. Sean Bean was also great in that.

Tiramiwho · 08/09/2021 22:37

I'd watched him in a few bits and pieces and really remembered him as an excellent Actor.
Very recently, I watched 'This Is England' film when it came on the telly and was blown away by his performance. Just mesmerisingly brilliant!
He's worked with Scorsese and the Hollywood crowd. Check out YouTube for his appearances on Graham Norton.
Top, top bloke..and just like the superb Jodie Cromer, a born'n'bread Scouser 🤗

Tiramiwho · 08/09/2021 22:38

Born'n'Bred Not 🍞

GreekMIL · 08/09/2021 22:40

Boiling Point is a 22 minute short of a busy restaurant kitchen. They filmed it all in one take. It brought back memories of waitressing in London! Definitely recommend it.

@Brittleheadgirl So pleased to hear that

My favourite actor - everything he touches turn to gold. My absolute favourite role he has played was in Little Boy Blue about the murder of Rhys Jones. I believed every word.

AppleBlossomTimeNow · 08/09/2021 22:41

He has this quiet intensity. It's spellbinding.

GreekMIL · 08/09/2021 22:41

The Virtues is fantastic as well, but a bloody hard watch Sad

BeaucoupFish · 08/09/2021 22:44

But his accent did keep slipping in Public Enemies, and he did over do that Welsh accent in White House Farm

Excellent In Little Boy Blue, and TIE

Dadvdtret · 08/09/2021 22:45

He lives near us. Often to be seen in the local co op apparently & down to earth & really nice. I've heard he's so severely dyslexic that he has to get his wife to read the scripts and he memorises his lines that way... Not sure if that's true though!

BorisWhoHackedAtYourMop · 08/09/2021 22:45

Excellent actor and excellent idea for a thread OP.

Wasn’t it just? It was heartbreaking.
LouLou198 · 08/09/2021 22:46

Fantastic actor, and seems such a genuine man too. I thought he was excellent in the series about Rhys Jones a few years ago, think it was called "little boy blue". I read recently that he actually offered to adopt the young boy who starred in This is England with him as Shaun, when his mum died of cancer. He was only 13. Apparently he went to live with his dad and all was well, but he didn't really know him well, and Stephen offered to take care of him if things didn't work out with his dad.

midsomermurderess · 08/09/2021 23:13

He's not convincing and mesmerising in every role. He was cast as Jerry Weseterby in Tinker Tailor, Soldier, Spy. That character is a cricket-playing, gangly posho, not short, bubble-permed Scouser. It felt almost like the casting was an in-joke.
Other than that, yes, he's good.

midsomermurderess · 08/09/2021 23:15

And great friends with Leonardo Di Caprio apparently. Doesn't he and his family live in a village in Leicestershire, when he's not off filming? Living an ordinary, non-starry life.
