Tell me about something you've bought that you dont think you can live without now. Something that isn't essential to your everyday life, doesn't have to be luxury but just something that's made a difference to your life.

I recently got a small handheld vaccum as my main wasn't working so I got a cheap one till I could research on a good one anyway its really helped with back problems as I'm not having to lug it up the stairs.
Also I had a bit extra this month so wanted to get something practical to make life that little bit easier, any suggestions?

H&M Spanx type underwear 2 for 17 & great under dresses.

@herecomesthsun

Birth certificates x 2. Our lives were never the same again ...

Do you wish you hadn't?

MountainDweller · 05/09/2021 23:13

XL Electric heat pad - great for back pain and no need to refill/reheat! I have a battery operated one too for going out which is not bad but not as good as the mains one.

Purse with two separate coin compartments (I use two currencies and need change for parking).

MountainDweller · 05/09/2021 23:14

Oh yes and a 2m Titan charging cable!

Goingdriving · 05/09/2021 23:14

Strips that go on your nose to stop
You snoring. You could buy 100 for that much money and get excellent quality sleep!

nonotmenotI · 05/09/2021 23:15

I have 2 things.

One is my electric potato peeler and the other is my veggie chopper.

Bloody godsend when you have carpel tunnel.

@SeptemberNC

Could you please share me the white noise pod link? I live on a busy road and would love to be able to block all that noise. Thanks. Smile

There ya go Smile

It has babbling brook, sea-wave, birds chirping, campfire crackling, rain etc...But I find the simple 'white noise' sounds effective too.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra-Light Invisible Fluid Sun Cream SPF50 50ml

So light for the face. Don’t even need to wash hands after using it, like you do with other sun tan lotions. I sometimes use it on arms too as a little goes a long way

Piffpaffpoff · 05/09/2021 23:23

These threads always end up costing me money 🤣

TheFairyCaravan · 05/09/2021 23:26

Heated throw although I didn’t buy that, some lovely friends sent it to me when I wasn’t very well.

My weighted blanket. I bought that in the middle of the night when I was awake again due to menopause induced insomnia, or restless legs or pain. I was at the end of my tether and exhausted. I rarely wake up now.

My neck fan. DH and DS1 think it’s hilarious but I’m not the one moaning it’s too hot!

Wireless earbuds although I bought DH Alexa ear buds for Christmas last year so want to steal them!

Pepperama · 05/09/2021 23:26

Two things for me - garden clogs rather than having to put on proper shoes just to go to bins of compost, and my favourite for all of £10 each, a milk frother and a little silver stove top espresso maker. Better cappuccinos than Costa Starbucks etc

CrimeJunkie01 · 05/09/2021 23:30

@FusciasBright21

Eye mask with built in headphones. I have tinnitus and also sleep really lightly so this helps me fall and stay asleep. When I worked nights it was a godsend!
Oh these are amazing. I love mine, I listen to podcasts until I fall asleep. They are brill and the charge lasts forever
Twillow · 05/09/2021 23:30

Lavazza Milk-Up milk frother/hot chocolate/chai latte maker

NotMyCat · 05/09/2021 23:31

Mini razors for eyebrow shaping and chin hair

Anker soundcore mini - tiny speaker with amazing sound

Raghag reusable pads from Etsy. Amazing patterns, easy to wash and I wish I had swapped years ago

Botanical candle company. Candles that actually scent

Bioderma shower oil - wash and shave with it and leaves skin feeling fab

Sanctuary wet skin GEL - it's got acids in to exfoliate and moisturises (gel, not the original)

Innisfree microcara - mini mascara for bottom lashes

OooPourUsACupLove · 05/09/2021 23:32

Another one: baking sheets and silicone liners for them. Great for cookies, really easy to clean and no faffing with greaseproof paper or greasing trays.

crummyusername · 05/09/2021 23:32

Proper heavyweight sellotape dispenser. Like the ones you get in schools or office. £15 or so and total game changer at Christmas and birthdays - wrapping takes half the time and with way less swearing!

MerryMarigold · 05/09/2021 23:35

Crepe pan! Love making them now, and so easy.

Beside table with drawers (from eBay) - keeps everything handy/ sorted - in particular my glasses and moisturizers/ makeup, books and notebooks so not all over my chest of drawers.

TheHuntingoftheSnark · 05/09/2021 23:40

An enormous wool wrap that makes me feel so cosy in winter and makes me feel safe and warm when travelling.

WeAllHaveWings · 05/09/2021 23:42

BBQ chimney starter, around £20. Perfectly lit charcoal every time.

Have always loved a bbq but it was a bit hit and miss so we didnt do often, we now bbq regularly and it isnt a big deal.

Vitallyli · 05/09/2021 23:47

@LondonMummer you can use a wine or beer bottle and put chicken on it, I cover the skin with a bit of oil and honey, works amazingly and doesn't cost a thing.
