Purchase under £100 that's changed your life

Tell me about something you've bought that you dont think you can live without now. Something that isn't essential to your everyday life, doesn't have to be luxury but just something that's made a difference to your life.

I recently got a small handheld vaccum as my main wasn't working so I got a cheap one till I could research on a good one anyway its really helped with back problems as I'm not having to lug it up the stairs.
Also I had a bit extra this month so wanted to get something practical to make life that little bit easier, any suggestions?

Coverless duvet, zip on matress cover and compression sheet all for autistic ds. No more ripping all the bedclothes off in the middle of the night and trying to climb inside the duvet cover ripping them.

And wuka period pants. Absolutely love them.

Stick blender, French soap, linen pillowcases, favourite leather bag.
Plastic garlic smuncher ( recommendation from here).

Loads already mentioned, but my oodie is my best buy this year. They look ridiculous, but my god it is so comfy, and saved a lot on this winters heating bills. Also excellent for camping trips! We now have one each and a spare for guests, I should get commission as so many friends have bought one after trying one at my house.

herecomesthsun · 07/09/2021 11:33

I'm interested in the period pants. What are the best ones?

2bazookas · 07/09/2021 11:47

@sarah13xx

Also my pregnancy pillow, not even pregnant anymore
Just for a minute thought that was a fertility aid ooops

Could someone link to the peeling mask mentioned above please?

MakeMathsFun · 07/09/2021 11:59

Kept leaving my reading glasses down, which I don't need for all reading, so with infrequent use I forget where I last used them. Solution: I bought 6 pairs of cheap £1 spectacles of the right strength (and 6 specs cases for £1 each too) from a Pound shop. I know its meant to be better for your eyes to use prescribed glasses from an optician, but for me these seem much better than the expensive ones I have. I keep a pair in the car, upstairs, downstairs, in my bag, at work and another at my parents where I frequently visit. Now, for a total of only £12 I never need to look for them as they are always available wherever I am. An inexpensive life-changer for those occasional 'emergencies' when the print is too small to read on food packaging.

@2bazookas What is a plastic garlic smuncher? Googled it and did not get far!
@PegasusReturns how much does this thing hurt? I feel like I need it in my life, but it looks like it's going to hurt.
A lot apparently. It was on another thread I was reading this week.

householdrmk · 07/09/2021 12:59

It's not a thing but a website. I don't know about 'changing my life' but it's a discount place that tells you all the bargains at the moment.
Whenever i need to make a purchase, I check it out. I buy loads of cut price things there and it's saved me a fortune.

My fan has changed me for the hot weather at least. I have a honeywell fan which is quiet and I can set a timer for night time.
@Teaandcakeordeath83 pleeees share the hooded tape link I shall be forever grateful Grin
These are the ones I have. There's loads on various sites so I don't know the difference in quality etc... Today I put two on each eyelid- one above the other. No hood at all. Bloody amazing. Can't tell they're on as they sit in the crease/ are totally see through and can't feel them on either.

@farfalle88

If it's the ordinary one it's here. Be careful with it. Build time up slowly on it and don't go mad doing it more than once a week. Wear SPF afterwards. X
@householdrmk what's this website please
It's www.hotukdeals.com/ I use it for everything I buy. I do a quick search before I buy anything. Am currently looking for a Fridge Freezer and have a notification on there in case one comes up. I get a lot of Amazon bargains there as well. I also recently bought a laptop and got it from one of their links.

pureofmind · 07/09/2021 17:29

@householdrmk thanks so much !! Xx

@AmelieLovesAutumn and @PegasusReturns .. Amazon have just been with the knife sharpener and Springy-Tash-Be-Gone!

I now have lovely sharp knives (and no longer resemble Brian Kilcline Grin)

@Daisychainsandglitter

A shiatsu back, neck and shoulder massager. I'm pretty sure I have piriformis syndrome and it brings some temporary welcome relief.
Ooh do you have a link please?
SpamThief · 07/09/2021 17:47
@SpamThief - the platform is around 1m from the ground, so you do need a step ladder to get onto it. I already had this one, I just have it sideways on in front of the platform. As you can tell, I’m really not a fan of stupid thin ladder rungs 😂

I got it via Amazon, it was supplied by this company:

www.abbeyaccess.co.uk/contact_us.htm

You could give them a call to find out whether you can purchase direct from them
Thank you so much, that's really helpful! Think I'll go for it and get cracking on my re-decorating. And I think I have the same step ladder as you Grin

Excellent. I've had mine (knife sharpener) a while now & wouldn't be without it. If it broke I'd get another one straight away. I hope you feel the same!

At first I had trouble securing it to a surface, but I wet it & that helped. Now it clamps down on the work surface easily (but didn't at first) I had to put it on an enamel tray?! Worth persevering it gets easier (make sure you have it facing the right way too! I thought it was obvious, and it says 'sharpen this direction or something' but my friend said it was 'crap' so I had to point out that a lot of things might seem that way when you don't use them properly 🤣🤣she loves hers now too !
